Confession

Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done,
and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will,
and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name.

Amen

May Almighty God have mercy on us,
forgive us all our sins
through our Lord Jesus Christ,
strengthen us in all goodness,
and by the power of the Holy Spirit

Dios de misericordia,

Lectura de San Marcos 15:37 - 16:7

Pero Jesús dio un fuerte grito, y murió. Y el velo del templo se rasgó en dos, de arriba abajo. El capitán romano, que estaba frente a Jesús, al ver que este había muerto, dijo: "Verdaderamente este hombre era Hijo de Dios." 

También había algunas mujeres mirando de lejos; entre ellas estaban María Magdalena, María la madre de Santiago el menor y de José, y Salomé. Estas mujeres habían seguido a Jesús y lo habían ayudado cuando él estaba en Galilea. Además había allí muchas otras que habían ido con él a Jerusalén. 

Como ese era día de preparación, es decir, víspera del Sábado , y ya era tarde, José, natural de Arimatea y miembro importante de la Junta Suprema, el cual también esperaba el reino de Dios, se dirigió con decisión a Pilato y le pidió el cuerpo de Jesús. Pilato, sorprendido de que ya hubiera muerto, llamó al capitán para preguntarle cuánto tiempo hacía de ello. Cuando el capitán lo hubo informado, Pilato entregó el cuerpo a José. 

Entonces José compró una sábana de lino, bajó el cuerpo y lo envolvió en ella. Luego lo puso en un sepulcro excavado en la roca, y tapó la entrada del sepulcro con una piedra. María Magdalena y María la madre de José, miraban dónde lo ponían. 

Pasado el Sábado , María Magdalena, María la madre de Santiago, y Salomé, compraron perfumes para perfumar el cuerpo de Jesús. Y el primer día de la semana fueron al sepulcro muy temprano, apenas salido el sol, diciéndose unas a otras: "¿Quién nos quitará la piedra de la entrada del sepulcro?" 

Pero, al mirar, vieron que la piedra ya no estaba en su lugar. Esta piedra era muy grande. Cuando entraron en el sepulcro vieron, sentado al lado derecho, a un joven vestido con una larga ropa blanca. Las mujeres se asustaron, pero él les dijo: "No se asusten. Ustedes buscan a Jesús de Nazaret, el que fue crucificado. Ha resucitado; no está aquí. Miren el lugar donde lo pusieron. Vayan y digan a sus discípulos, y a Pedro: 'Él va a Galilea para reunirlos de nuevo; allí lo verán, tal como les dijo.'"

Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ in his earthly life shared our toil and hallowed our labor: Be present with your people where they work; make those who carry on the industries and commerce of this land responsive to your will; and give to us all a pride in what we do, and a just return for our labor; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Be our light in the darkness, O Lord, and in your great mercy defend us from all perils and dangers of this night; for the love of your only Son, our Savior Jesus Christ.
