The Lord is in his holy tem-ple;
let all the earth keep silence be-fore him
I was glad when they said to me,
Let us go to/the house of/the Lord.
Let the words of my mouth
and the medi-ta-tion of my heart
be ac-cepta-ble in your sight, O Lord,
my strength and my re-deem-er.
Thus says the high and lofty One
who in-habits e-terni-ty,
whose name is Ho-ly,
I dwell in/the high and holy place
Send out your light
and your truth, that they may lead me,
and bring me to your holy hill
and to your dwel-ling place.
Give thanks to/the Lord, and call on his Name;
make known his deeds a-mong the peo-ples.
Lord, o-pen our lips.
And our mouth shall pro-claim your praise.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for ever A-men.

Come, let's sing to/the Lord;
let's shout for joy to/the Rock of our sal-va-tion.
Let's come be-fore his presence with thanks-giv-ing
and raise a loud shout to him with psalms.
For the Lord is/a great God,
and a great King a-bove all gods.
In his hand are the caverns of/the earth,
and the heights of/the hills are his al-so.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands have molded the dry land.
Come, let's bow down, and bend the knee,
and kneel be-fore the Lord our Mak-er.
For he is our God,
and we are the people of his pas-ture
and the sheep of his hand.
Oh, that to-day you would hearken to his voice!

Give thanks to/the Lord, for he is good
Yes, his loyal love en-dures for-ev-er!
Let all Isra-el say,
Yes, his loyal love en-dures for-ev-er!
Let the fami-ly of Aa-ron say,
Yes, his loyal love en-dures for-ev-er!
Let the loyal follow-ers of/the Lord say,
Yes, his loyal love en-dures for-ev-er!
In my dis-tress
I cried _ out to/the Lord.
The Lord an-swered me
and put me in a wide o-pen place.
The Lord is on my side, I am not a-fraid!
What can people do to me?
The Lord is on my side as my help-er.
I look in triumph on those who hate me.
It is better to take shelter in/the Lord
than to trust in peo-ple.
It is better to take shelter in/the Lord
than to trust in princ-es.
All the na-tions sur-rounded me.
In/the name of/the Lord I pushed them a-way.
They sur-rounded me, yes, they sur-rounded me.
In/the name of/the Lord I pushed them a-way.
They sur-rounded me like bees.
In/the name of/the Lord I pushed them a-way.
But they disap-peared as quickly as/a fire a-mong thorns.
In/the name of/the Lord I pushed them a-way.
You ag-gressive-ly at-tacked me
and tried to knock me down,
but the Lord helped me.
The Lord gives me strength and pro-tects me;
He has be-come my de-liver-er.
They cele-brate de-liver-ance in/the tents of/the god-ly.
The Lord's right hand con-quers,
the Lord's right hand gives vic-to-ry,
The Lord's right hand con-quers.
I will not die, but live,
and I will pro-claim what the Lord has done.
The Lord se-verely pun-ished me,
but he did not hand me over to death.
O-pen for me the gates of/the just king's tem-ple!
I will en-ter through them
and give thanks _ to/the Lord.
This is the Lord's gate
the god-ly en-ter through it.
I will give you thanks, for you an-swered me,
and have be-come my de-liver-er.
The stone which the builders re-ject-ed
has be-come the corner-stone.
This is the Lord's do-ing.
It is a-mazing in our sight!
This is the day the Lord has made.
We will be glad and re-joice in it.
Please Lord, de-liv-er!
Lord, please grant us suc-cess!
May the one who comes in/the name of/the Lord be blessed!
We will pro-nounce blessings on you in/the Lord's tem-ple.
The Lord is God
and he has de-livered us.
You are my God
and I will give you thanks!
You are my God
and I will al-ways praise you!
Give thanks to/the Lord, for he is good
and his loyal love en-dures for-ev-er!
This is the day the Lord has made.
We will be glad and re-joice in it.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Readings
A reading from 2 Kings 20:1-21
In those days Hezekiah was stricken with a terminal illness. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz visited him and told him, “This is what the Lord has said, ‘Give your household instructions, for you are about to die; you will not get well.’” He turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, “Please, Lord. Remember how I have served you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion, and how I have carried out your will.” Then Hezekiah wept bitterly.
Isaiah had not yet left the middle courtyard when the Lord’s message came to him, “Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people: ‘This is what the Lord God of your ancestor David has said: “I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Look, I will heal you. The day after tomorrow you will go up to the Lord’s temple. I will add fifteen years to your life and rescue you and this city from the king of Assyria. I will shield this city for the sake of my reputation and because of my promise to David my servant.”’” Isaiah ordered, “Get a fig cake.” So they did as he ordered and placed it on the ulcerated sore, and he recovered.
Hezekiah had said to Isaiah, “What is the confirming sign that the Lord will heal me and that I will go up to the Lord’s temple the day after tomorrow?” Isaiah replied, “This is your sign from the Lord confirming that the Lord will do what he has said. Do you want the shadow to move ahead 10 steps or to go back 10 steps?” Hezekiah answered, “It is easy for the shadow to lengthen 10 steps, but not for it to go back ten steps.” Isaiah the prophet called out to the Lord, and the Lord made the shadow go back ten steps on the stairs of Ahaz.
At that time Merodach Baladan son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent messengers with letters and a gift to Hezekiah, for he had heard that Hezekiah was ill. Hezekiah welcomed them and showed them his whole storehouse, with its silver, gold, spices, and high quality olive oil, as well as his armory and everything in his treasuries. Hezekiah showed them everything in his palace and in his whole kingdom. Isaiah the prophet visited King Hezekiah and asked him, “What did these men say? Where do they come from?” Hezekiah replied, “They come from the distant land of Babylon.” Isaiah asked, “What have they seen in your palace?” Hezekiah replied, “They have seen everything in my palace. I showed them everything in my treasuries.” Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Listen to the Lord’s message, ‘Look, a time is coming when everything in your palace and the things your ancestors have accumulated to this day will be carried away to Babylon; nothing will be left,’ says the Lord. ‘Some of your very own descendants whom you father will be taken away and will be made eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’” Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The Lord’s message which you have announced is appropriate.” Then he added, “At least there will be peace and stability during my lifetime.”
The rest of the events of Hezekiah’s reign and all his accomplishments, including how he built a pool and conduit to bring water into the city, are recorded in the scroll called the Annals of the Kings of Judah. Hezekiah passed away and his son Manasseh replaced him as king.

O rul-er of/the uni-verse, Lord God,
great deeds are they that you have done,
sur-pas-sing human under-stand-ing.
Your ways are ways of righteous-ness and truth,
O King of all the ag-es.
Who can fail to do you hom-age, Lord,
and sing the praises of your Name?
for you only are the Ho-ly One.
All na-tions will draw near
and fall down be-fore you,
be-cause your just and holy works
have been re-vealed. Alle-lu-ia, a-men!
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
A reading from Luke 7:11-17
Soon afterward Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went with him. As he approached the town gate, a man who had died was being carried out, the only son of his mother (who was a widow), and a large crowd from the town was with her. When the Lord saw her, he had compassion for her and said to her, “Do not weep.” Then he came up and touched the bier, and those who carried it stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!” So the dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. Fear seized them all, and they began to glorify God, saying, “A great prophet has appeared among us!” and “God has come to help his people!” This report about Jesus circulated throughout Judea and all the surrounding country.
Here ends the reading.

Sunday - Song of Zechariah
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Bless-ed be the Lord, the God of Is-ra-el;
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty sav-ior,
born of/the house of his servant Da-vid.
Through his holy proph-ets he prom-ised of old,
that he would save us from our ene-mies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He prom-ised to show mer-cy to our fath-ers
and to re-member his holy cov-e-nant.
This was the oath he swore to our fath-er A-bra-ham,
to set us free from/the hands of our ene-mies,
Free to wor-ship him without fear,
ho-ly and righteous in his sight
all the days of our life.
And you, my child, shall be called
the proph-et of/the Most High,
for you will go be-fore the Lord to pre-pare his way,
To give his people knowledge of sal-va-tion
by the for-give-ness of their sins.
In/the tender com-pas-sion of our God
the dawn from on high shall break up-on us,
To shine on those who dwell in dark-ness
and in/the shadow of death,
and to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

He de-scended to/the dead.
On the third day he rose a-gain.
He a-scended into heav-en,
and is seated at/the right hand of/the Fath-er.

Amen.
