a Sav-ior, who is Christ the Lord.
Be-hold, the dwelling of God is with man-kind.
He will dwell with them,
and they shall be his peo-ple,
and God him-self will be with them,
and He will be their God.
Lord, o-pen our lips.
And our mouth shall pro-claim your praise.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,

and come be-fore his presence with a song.
Know this: The Lord him-self is God;

go into his courts with praise;
Give thanks to him and call on his Name.

and de-livers them.
Taste and see that the Lord is good!
How blessed is the one who takes shelter in him!
Fear the Lord, you chosen people of his,
For those who fear him lack noth-ing!
E-ven young lions some-times lack food and are hun-gry.
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
Come children! List-en to me!
I will teach you what it means to fear the Lord.
Do you want to really live?
Would you love to live a long, happy life?
Then make sure you don’t speak evil words or use de-cep-tive speech!
Turn a-way from evil and do what is right!
Strive for peace and pro-mote it!
The Lord pays at-ten-tion to/the god-ly
and hears their cry for help.
But the Lord op-poses evil-do-ers
and wipes out all memo-ry of them from/the earth.
The god-ly cry out and the Lord hears;
he saves them from all their trou-ble.
The Lord is near the broken heart-ed;
he de-livers those who are dis-cour-aged.
The god-ly face many dan-gers,
but the Lord saves them from each one of them.
He pro-tects all his bones;
not one of them is bro-ken.
E-vil people self-de-struct;
those who hate the god-ly are punished.
The Lord res-cues his serv-ants;
all who take shelter in him es-cape punish-ment.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for ever A-men.
Readings
A reading from Genesis 12:1-7
Now the Lord said to Abram,
“Go out from your country, your relatives, and your father’s household
to the land that I will show you.
Then I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you,
and I will make your name great,
so that you will exemplify divine blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
but the one who treats you lightly I must curse,
so that all the families of the earth may receive blessing through you.”
So Abram left, just as the Lord had told him to do, and Lot went with him. (Now Abram was 75 years old when he departed from Haran.) And Abram took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, and all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Haran, and they left for the land of Canaan. They entered the land of Canaan.
Abram traveled through the land as far as the oak tree of Moreh at Shechem. (At that time the Canaanites were in the land.) The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your descendants I will give this land.” So Abram built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

You are God: we praise you;
You are the Lord; we ac-claim you;
You are the e-ter-nal Fath-er:
All cre-a-tion wor-ships you.
To you all an-gels, all the powers of heav-en,
Cher-u-bim and Ser-a-phim, sing in end-less praise:
Holy, ho-ly, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heav-en and earth are full of your glo-ry.
The glori-ous com-pany of a-pos-tles praises you.
The no-ble fellow-ship of proph-ets praises you.
The white robed army of mar-tyrs praises you.
Through-out the world the holy Church ac-claims you;
Fath-er, of majes-ty un-bound-ed,
your true and only Son, worthy of all wor-ship,
and the Ho-ly Spi-rit, ad-vocate and guide.
Three in one, we praise you for ev-er.
You, Christ, are the king of glo-ry,

When you be-came man to set us free
you did not shun the Vir-gin's womb.
You over-came the sting of death

Come then, Lord, and help your peo-ple,
bought with/the price of your own blood,

A reading from John 6:35-41,48-51
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. The one who comes to me will never go hungry, and the one who believes in me will never be thirsty. But I told you that you have seen me and still do not believe. Everyone whom the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never send away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me. Now this is the will of the one who sent me—that I should not lose one person of every one he has given me, but raise them all up at the last day. For this is the will of my Father—for everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him to have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”
Then the Jews who were hostile to Jesus began complaining about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven,” I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread that has come down from heaven, so that a person may eat from it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats from this bread he will live forever. The bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

We be-lieve in Je-sus Christ,

He suffered under Pon-tius Pi-late,
was cruci-fied, died, and was bur-ied.

Almighty God, who after the creation of the world rested from all your works and sanctified a day of rest for all your creatures: Grant that we, putting away all earthly anxieties, may be duly prepared for the service of your sanctuary, and that our rest here upon earth may be a preparation for the eternal rest promised to your people in heaven; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
