Invitation

Pentecost - Tuesday Invitation

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

The Lord is in his ho-ly tem-ple;
let all the earth keep si-lence be-fore him
I was glad when they said to me,
Let us go to the house of the Lord.

Let the words of my mouth
and the med-i-ta-tion of my heart
be ac-cep-ta-ble in your sight, O Lord,
my strength and my re-deem-er.

Thus says the high and loft-y One
who in-hab-its e-ter-ni-ty,
whose name is Ho-ly,
I dwell in the high and ho-ly place

Send out your light
and your truth, that they may lead me,
and bring me to your ho-ly hill
and to your dwel-ling place.

Give thanks to the Lord, and call up-on his Name;
make known his deeds a-mong the peo-ples.
Lord, o-pen our lips.
And our mouth shall pro-claim your praise.

Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.

Tuesday - Venite

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us shout for joy to the Rock of our sal-va-tion.
Let us come be-fore his pres-ence with thanks-giv-ing
and raise a loud shout to him with psalms.

For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King a-bove all gods.
In his hand are the cav-erns of the earth,
and the heights of the hills are his al-so.

The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands have mold-ed the dry land.
Come, let us bow down, and bend the knee,
and kneel be-fore the Lord our Mak-er.

For he is our God,
and we are the peo-ple of his pas-ture
and the sheep of his hand.
Oh, that to-day you would heark-en to his voice!

Psalms

Psalm 26

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Vin-di-cate me, O Lord, for I have in-teg-ri-ty,
and I trust in the Lord with-out wav-er-ing.
Ex-am-ine me, O Lord, and test me!
E-val-u-ate my in-ner thoughts and mo-tives!

For I am ev-er a-ware of your faith-ful-ness,
and your loy-al-ty con-tin-ual-ly mo-ti-vates me.
I do not as-so-ci-ate with de-ceit-ful men,
or con-sort with those who are dis-hon-est.

I hate the mob of e-vil men,
and do not as-so-ci-ate with the wick-ed.
I main-tain a pure life-style,
so I can ap-pear be-fore your al-tar, O Lord,

to give you thanks,
and to tell a-bout all your a-maz-ing deeds.
O Lord, I love the tem-ple where you live,
the place where your splen-dor is re-vealed.

Do not sweep me a-way with sin-ner,
or ex-e-cute me a-long with vio-lent peo-ple,
who are al-ways read-y to do wrong or of-fer a bribe.
But I have in-teg-ri-ty!

Res-cue me and have mer-cy on me!
I am safe, and a-mong the wor-ship-ers
I will praise the Lord.
and bless his name for-ev-er

Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.

Psalm 28

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

To you, O Lord, I cry out!
My pro-tec-tor, do not ig-nore me!
If you do not re-spond to me,
I will join those who are de-scend-ing into the grave.

Hear my plea for mer-cy
when I cry out to you for help,
when I lift my hands toward your ho-ly tem-ple!
Do not drag me a-way with e-vil men,

Or with those who be-have wick-ed-ly,
who talk so friend-ly to their neigh-bor,
while they plan to harm them!
Pay them back for their e-vil deeds!

Pay them back for what they do! Pun-ish them!
For they do not un-der-stand the Lord's ac-tions,
or the way he car-ries out jus-tice.
The Lord will per-ma-nent-ly de-mol-ish them.

The Lord de-serves my praise,
For he has heard my plea for mer-cy!
The Lord strength-ens and pro-tects me;
I trust in him with all my heart.

I am res-cued and my heart is full of joy;
I will sing to him in grat-i-tude.
The Lord strength-ens his peo-ple;
he pro-tects and de-liv-ers his cho-sen king.

De-liv-er your peo-ple, O God!
Em-pow-er the na-tions that be-longs to you!
Care for them like a shep-herd
and car-ry them in your arms at all times!

Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.

Readings

A reading from Job 12:1; 13:3-17, 21-27

Then Job answered:

But I wish to speak to the Almighty,
and I desire to argue my case with God.

But you, however, are inventors of lies;
all of you are worthless physicians!

If only you would keep completely silent!
For you, that would be wisdom.

“Listen now to my argument,
and be attentive to my lips’ contentions.

Will you speak wickedly on God’s behalf?
Will you speak deceitfully for him?

Will you show him partiality?
Will you argue the case for God?

Would it turn out well if he would examine you?
Or as one deceives a man would you deceive him?

He would certainly rebuke you
if you secretly showed partiality!

Would not his splendor terrify you
and the fear he inspires fall on you?

Your maxims are proverbs of ashes;
your defenses are defenses of clay.

“Refrain from talking with me so that I may speak;
then let come to me what may.

Why do I put myself in peril,
and take my life in my hands?

Even if he slays me, I will hope in him;
I will surely defend my ways to his face!

Moreover, this will become my deliverance,
for no godless person would come before him.

Listen carefully to my words;
let your ears be attentive to my explanation.

Remove your hand far from me
and stop making me afraid with your terror.

Then call, and I will answer,
or I will speak, and you respond to me.

How many are my iniquities and sins?
Show me my transgression and my sin.

Why do you hide your face
and regard me as your enemy?

Do you wish to torment a windblown leaf
and chase after dry chaff?

For you write down bitter things against me
and cause me to inherit the sins of my youth.

And you put my feet in the stocks
and you watch all my movements;
you put marks on the soles of my feet.

Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Tuesday - Song of the Redeemed

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

O rul-er of the u-ni-verse, Lord God,
great deeds are they that you have done,
sur-pas-sing hu-man un-der-stand-ing.
Your ways are ways of right-eous-ness and truth,

O King of all the ages.
Who can fail to do you hom-age, Lord,
and sing the prais-es of your Name?
for you on-ly are the Ho-ly One.

All na-tions will draw near
and fall down be-fore you,
be-cause your just and ho-ly works
have been re-vealed. Al-le-lu-ia, a-men!

Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.

A reading from Acts 12:1-17

About that time King Herod laid hands on some from the church to harm them. He had James, the brother of John, executed with a sword. When he saw that this pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter too. (This took place during the feast of Unleavened Bread.) When he had seized him, he put him in prison, handing him over to four squads of soldiers to guard him. Herod planned to bring him out for public trial after the Passover. So Peter was kept in prison, but those in the church were earnestly praying to God for him. On that very night before Herod was going to bring him out for trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, while guards in front of the door were keeping watch over the prison. Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared, and a light shone in the prison cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up, saying, “Get up quickly!” And the chains fell off Peter’s wrists. The angel said to him, “Fasten your belt and put on your sandals.” Peter did so. Then the angel said to him, “Put on your cloak and follow me.” Peter went out and followed him; he did not realize that what was happening through the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. After they had passed the first and second guards, they came to the iron gate leading into the city. It opened for them by itself, and they went outside and walked down one narrow street, when at once the angel left him. When Peter came to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from everything the Jewish people were expecting to happen.”

When Peter realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark, where many people had gathered together and were praying. When he knocked at the door of the outer gate, a slave girl named Rhoda answered. When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed she did not open the gate, but ran back in and told them that Peter was standing at the gate. But they said to her, “You’ve lost your mind!” But she kept insisting that it was Peter, and they kept saying, “It is his angel!” Now Peter continued knocking, and when they opened the door and saw him, they were greatly astonished. He motioned to them with his hand to be quiet and then related how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. He said, “Tell James and the brothers these things,” and then he left and went to another place.

Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Tuesday - Song of Zechariah

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Bless-ed be the Lord, the God of Is-ra-el;
he has come to his peo-ple and set them free.
He has raised up for us a might-y sav-ior,
born of the house of his serv-ant Da-vid.

Through his ho-ly proph-ets he prom-ised of old,
that he would save us from our en-e-mies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He prom-ised to show mer-cy to our fath-ers

and to re-mem-ber his ho-ly cov-e-nant.
This was the oath he swore to our fath-er A-bra-ham,
to set us free from the hands of our en-e-mies,
Free to wor-ship him with-out fear,

ho-ly and right-eous in his sight
all the days of our life.
And you, my child, shall be called
the proph-et of the Most High,

for you will go be-fore the Lord to pre-pare his way,
To give his peo-ple knowl-edge of sal-va-tion
by the for-give-ness of their sins.
In the ten-der com-pas-sion of our God

the dawn from on high shall break up-on us,
To shine on those who dwell in dark-ness
and the shad-ow of death,
and to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.

Tuesday Creed

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

We be-lieve in God, the Fath-er al-might-y,
cre-a-tor of heav-en and earth.
We be-lieve in Je-sus Christ,
his on-ly son, our Lord.

He was con-ceived by the pow-er of the Ho-ly Spi-rit
and born of the Vir-gin Ma-ry.
He suf-fered un-der Pon-tius Pi-late,
was cru-ci-fied, died, and was bur-ied.

He de-scend-ed to the dead.
On the third day he rose a-gain.
He a-scend-ed into heav-en,
and is seat-ed at the right hand of the Fath-er.

He will come a-gain
to judge the liv-ing and the dead.
We be-lieve in the Ho-ly Spi-rit,
the ho-ly cath-o-lic Church,

the com-mun-ion of saints,
the for-give-ness of sins,
the res-ur-rec-tion of the bod-y,
and the life ev-er-last-ing. A-men.

Tuesday - Our Father

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

The Lord be with you.
And al-so with you. A-men.
Our Fath-er in heav-en,
hal-low-ed be your Name.

Your king-dom come,
your will be done, on earth as in heav-en.
Give us to-day our dai-ly bread.
For-give us our sins as we for-give those who sin a-gainst us.

Save us from the time of tri-al,
and de-liv-er us from e-vil.
For the king-dom, the pow-er, and the glo-ry are yours,
now and for ev-er. A-men.

Tuesday - Morning Suffrages B

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Save your peo-ple, Lord,
and bless your in-her-it-ance;
Gov-ern and guide them, Lord
and up-hold them, now and al-ways.

Day by day we bless you;
We praise your name for ev-er.
Lord, keep us from all sin to-day;
Have mer-cy up-on us, Lord, have mer-cy.

Lord, show us your love and mer-cy;
For we put our trust in you.
In you, Lord, is our hope;
And we shall nev-er hope in vain.

Collect of the Day

Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ in his earthly life shared our toil and hallowed our labor: Be present with your people where they work; make those who carry on the industries and commerce of this land responsive to your will; and give to us all a pride in what we do, and a just return for our labor; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Amen.

A Collect for Peace

O God, the author of peace and lover of concord, to know you is eternal life and to serve you is perfect freedom: Defend us, your humble servants, in all assaults of our enemies; that we, surely trusting in your defense, may not fear the power of any adversaries; through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Prayer for Mission

Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name.

Amen.

General Thanksgiving

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Al-might-y God, Fa-ther of all mer-cies,
we your un-wor-thy serv-ants give you hum-ble thanks
for all your good-ness and lov-ing kind-ness
to us and to all whom you have made.

We bless you for our cre-a-tion, pres-er-va-tion,
and all the bles-sings of this life;
but a-bove all for your im-meas-ur-a-ble love
in the re-demp-tion of the world by our Lord Je-sus Christ;

for the means of grace, and for the hope of glo-ry.
And, we pray, give us such an a-ware-ness of your mer-cy,
that with tru-ly thank-ful hearts
we may show forth your praise,

not on-ly with our lips, but in our lives,
by giv-ing up our selves to your ser-vice,
and by walk-ing be-fore you
in ho-li-ness and right-eous-ness all our days;

through Je-sus Christ our Lord,
to whom, with you and the Ho-ly Spi-rit,
be ho-nor and glo-ry
through-out all the ag-es. A-men.

Evening Prayer - Monday August 31 2020

Opening Hymn: LEVAS2 (L176)    An Evening Prayer

1 If I have wounded any soul today,
If I have caused one foot to go astray,
If I have walked in my own willful way,
Dear Lord, forgive!
2 If I have uttered idle words or vain,
If I have turned aside from want or pain,
Lest I offend some other through the strain,
Dear Lord, forgive!
3 If I have been perverse, or hard, or cold,
If I have longed for shelter in the fold,
When thou hast given me some fort to hold,
Dear Lord, forgive!
4 Forgive the sins I have confessed to thee;
Forgive the secret sins I do not see;
O guide me, love me, and my keeper be.
Dear Lord, Amen.

The Invitatory and Psalter

V: O God, make speed | to save | us.
R: O Lord, | make haste | to help | us.

Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.

O Gracious Light Phos hilaron

O gracious light, pure brightness
of the everliving Father in heaven,
O Jesus Christ, holy and blessed!
Now as we come to the setting of the sun,
and our eyes behold the vesper light,
we sing your praises, O God:
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
You are worthy at all times
to be praised by happy voices,
O Son of God, O Giver of life,
and to be glorified through all the worlds.

Psalm 9

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

I will thank the Lord with all my heart!
I will tell a-bout all your a-maz-ing deeds!
I will be hap-py and re-joice in you!
I will sing prais-es to you, Most High!

When my en-e-mies turn back,
they trip and are de-feat-ed be-fore you.
For you de-fend-ed my just cause;
from your throne you pro-nounced just de-ci-sion.

You ter-ri-fied the na-tions with your bat-tle cry;
you de-stroyed the wick-ed;
you per-ma-nent-ly wiped out all mem-o-ry of them.
The en-e-my's cit-ies have been re-duced to per-ma-nent ruin;

You de-stroyed their cit-ies;
all mem-o-ry of the en-e-mies has per-ished.
But the Lord rules for-ev-er;
he reigns in just man-ner.

He judg-es the world fair-ly;
he makes just le-gal de-ci-sions for the na-tions.
Thus the Lord pro-vides safe-ty for the op-pressed;
he pro-vides safe-ty in times of trou-ble.

Your loy-al fol-low-ers trust in you,
for you, Lord, do not a-ban-don those who seek your help.
Sing prais-es to the Lord, who rules in Zi-on!
Tell the na-tions what he has done!

For the one who takes re-venge a-gainst mur-der-ers
took no-tice of the op-pressed;
he did not o-ver-look their cry for help
when they prayed: Have mer-cy on me, Lord!

See how I am op-pressed
by all those who hate me,
You who can snatch me
a-way from the gates of death!

Then I will tell a-bout all your praise-wor-thy acts;
in the gates of Daugh-ter Zi-on
will re-joice
be-cause of your de-liv-er-ance.

The na-tions fell into the pit they had made;
their feet were caught in the net they had hid-den.
The Lord re-vealed him-self;
He ac-com-plished jus-tice;

The wick-ed were en-snared by their own ac-tion.
The wick-ed are turned back and sent to She-ol;
this is the des-ti-ny
of all the na-tions that ig-nore God,

For the need-y
are not per-ma-nent-ly ig-nored,
the hopes of the op-pressed
are not for-ev-er dashed.

Rise up, Lord! Don't let men be de-fi-ant!
May the na-tions be judged in your pres-ence!
Ter-ri-fy them, Lord!
Let the na-tions know they are mere mor-tals!

Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.

Psalm 15

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Lord, who may be a guest in your home?
Who may live on your ho-ly hill?
Who-ev-er lives a blame-less life,
does what is right, and speaks hon-est-ly.

He does not slan-der,
or do harm to oth-ers, or in-sult his neigh-bors.
He de-spis-es a rep-ro-bate,
but hon-ors the Lord's loy-al fol-low-ers.

He makes firm com-mit-ments
and does not re-nege on his prom-ise.
He does not charge inter-est
when he lends his mon-ey.

He does not take bribes
to tes-ti-fy a-gainst the in-no-cent.
The one who lives like this
will nev-er be shak-en.

Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.

Readings

A reading from Acts 11:19-30

Now those who had been scattered because of the persecution that took place over Stephen went as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the message to no one but Jews. But there were some men from Cyprus and Cyrene among them who came to Antioch and began to speak to the Greeks too, proclaiming the good news of the Lord Jesus. The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed turned to the Lord. A report about them came to the attention of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch.

When he came and saw the grace of God, he rejoiced and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with devoted hearts, because he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and a significant number of people were brought to the Lord. Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to look for Saul, and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught a significant number of people. Now it was in Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians.

At that time some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. One of them, named Agabus, got up and predicted by the Spirit that a severe famine was about to come over the whole inhabited world. (This took place during the reign of Claudius.) So the disciples, each in accordance with his financial ability, decided to send relief to the brothers living in Judea. They did so, sending their financial aid to the elders by Barnabas and Saul.

Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Monday - Song of Praise

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Glo-ry to you, Lord God of our fath-ers;
you are wor-thy of praise; glo-ry to you.
Glo-ry to you for the ra-di-ance of your ho-ly Name;
we will praise you and high-ly ex-alt you for ev-er.

Glo-ry to you in the splen-dor of your tem-ple;
on the throne of your maj-es-ty, glo-ry to you.
Glo-ry to you, seat-ed be-tween the Cher-u-bim;
we will praise you and high-ly ex-alt you for ev-er.

Glo-ry to you, be-hold-ing the depths;
in the high vault of heav-en, glo-ry to you.
Glo-ry to you, Fath-er, Son, and Ho-ly Spi-rit;
we will praise you and high-ly ex-alt you for ev-er.

A reading from John 8:21-32

Then Jesus said to them again, “I am going away, and you will look for me but will die in your sin. Where I am going you cannot come.” So the Jewish leaders began to say, “Perhaps he is going to kill himself, because he says, ‘Where I am going you cannot come.’” Jesus replied, “You people are from below; I am from above. You people are from this world; I am not from this world. Thus I told you that you will die in your sins. For unless you believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.”

So they said to him, “Who are you?” Jesus replied, “What I have told you from the beginning. I have many things to say and to judge about you, but the Father who sent me is truthful, and the things I have heard from him I speak to the world.” (They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father.)

Then Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and I do nothing on my own initiative, but I speak just what the Father taught me. And the one who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, because I always do those things that please him.” While he was saying these things, many people believed in him.

Then Jesus said to those Judeans who had believed him, “If you continue to follow my teaching, you are really my disciples and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

On the third day he rose a-gain.
He a-scend-ed into heav-en,
and is seat-ed at the right hand of the Fath-er.

He will come a-gain
to judge the liv-ing and the dead.
We be-lieve in the Ho-ly Spi-rit,
the ho-ly cath-o-lic Church,

the com-mun-ion of saints,
the for-give-ness of sins,
the res-ur-rec-tion of the bod-y,
and the life ev-er-last-ing. A-men.

Monday - Our Father

A-men.

Show us your mer-cy, Lord;
And grant us your sal-va-tion.
Clothe your min-is-ters with right-eous-ness;
Let your peo-ple sing with joy.

Give peace, O Lord, in all the world;
For on-ly in you can we live in safe-ty.
Lord, keep this na-tion un-der your care;
And guide us in the way of jus-tice and truth.

Let your way be known up-on earth;
Your sav-ing health a-mong all na-tions.
Let not the need-y, O Lord, be for-got-ten;
Nor the hope of the poor be tak-en a-way.

Cre-ate in us clean hearts, God;
And sus-tain us by your Ho-ly Spi-rit.
Show us your mer-cy, Lord;
And grant us your sal-va-tion.

Collect of the Day

Almighty God, Lord of heaven and earth: We humbly pray that your gracious providence may give and preserve to our use the harvests of the land and of the seas, and may prosper all who labor to gather them, that we, who are constantly receiving good things from your hand, may always give you thanks; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Amen.

A Collect for Peace

Most holy God, the source of all good desires, all right judgements, and all just works: Give to us, your servants, that peace which the world cannot give, so that our minds may be fixed on the doing of your will, and that we, being delivered from the fear of all enemies, may live in peace and quietness; through the mercies of Christ Jesus our Savior.

Amen.

Prayer for Mission

O God and Father of all, whom the whole heavens adore: Let the whole earth also worship you, all nations obey you, all tongues confess and bless you, and men and women everywhere love you and serve you in peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

A Prayer of Saint Chrysostom

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Al-might-God,
you have giv-en us grace at this time
with one ac-cord
to make our com-mon sup-pli-ca-tion to you;

and you have prom-ised
through your well-be-lov-ed Son
that when two or three are ga-thered to-geth-er in his Name
you will be in the midst of them:

Ful-fill now, O Lord, our de-sires and pe-ti-tions
as may be best for us;
grant-ing us in this world knowl-edge of your truth,
and in the age to come life ev-er-last-ing. A-men.

Let us bless the Lord. Al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia!
Thanks be to God. Al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia!
Glo-ry to God whose pow-er, work-ing in us,
can do in-fi-nite-ly more than we can ask or im-ag-ine

Glo-ry to him from gen-er-a-tion to gen-er-a-tion in the Church,
and in Christ Je-sus for ev-er and ev-er. A-men.
Let us bless the Lord. Al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia!
Thanks be to God. Al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia!

1. Out in the highways and byways
Many are weary and sad;

Make me a blessing, Make me a blessing
Out of my life Let Jesus shine;
Make me a blessing O Savior I pray
Make me a blessing to someone today

2. Tell the sweet story of Christ and His love
Tell of His power to forgive
Others will trust Him if only you prove
True every moment you live [Refrain]

Be to the helpless a helper indeed
Unto your mission be true [Refrain]
