Confession
Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done,
and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will,
and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name.
Amen
May Almighty God have mercy on us,
forgive us all our sins
through our Lord Jesus Christ,
strengthen us in all goodness,
and by the power of the Holy Spirit
keep us in eternal life.
Amen

Grace to you and peace from God our Fa-ther
and from/the Lord Je-sus Christ.
Wor-ship the Lord in/the beau-ty of his holi-ness;
let the whole earth trem-ble be-fore him.
Let my prayer be set forth in your sight as in-cense,
the lifting up of my hands as the eve-ning sacri-fice.
I will bless the Lord who gives me coun-sel;
my heart teaches me, night after night.
I have set the Lord al-ways be-fore me;
be-cause he is at my right hand, I shall not fall.
O God, make speed to save us.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
O Gracious Light
O gracious Light,
pure brightness of the
everliving Father in heaven.
O Jesus, Christ, holy and blessed!
Now as we come to the setting of the sun,
and our eyes behold the vesper light,
we sing your praises, O God:
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
You are worthy at all times
to be praised by happy voices,
O Son of God, O Giver of life,
and to be glorified through all the worlds.
Psalm 124

If the Lord had/not been on our side
let Isra-el _ say this!
if the Lord had/not been on our side,
when these men at-tacked us,
They would have swallowed us a-live,
when their an-ger raged a-gainst us.
The water would have over-pow-ered us;
the current would have over-whelmed us.
The raging water would have over-whelmed us.
The Lord de-serves our praise,
for he did not hand us over as prey to their teeth.
We es-caped with our lives,
like a bird from/a hunter's snare.
The snare broke, and we es-caped.
Our de-liver-er is the Lord,
the Cre-ator of heaven and earth.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Psalm 125
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Those who trust in/the Lord are like Mount Zi-on,
which can/not be moved and will en-dure for-ev-er.
As the mountains sur-round Je-ru-sa-lem,
so the Lord sur-rounds his peo-ple, now and for-ever-more.
In-deed, the scepter of a wicked king
will not settle up-on/the al-lotted land of/the god-ly.
Other-wise the god-ly might do what is wrong.
Do good, O Lord, to those who are moral-ly up-right!
As for those who are bent on travel-ing a sin-ful path,
may the Lord re-move them,
a-long with those who be-have wicked-ly!
May Isra-el ex-peri-ence peace!
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Psalm 126
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
When the Lord re-stored the well-being of Zi-on,
we thought we were dream-ing.
At that time we laughed loud-ly
and we shout-ed for joy.
At that time the nations said,
The Lord has ac-com-plished great things for these peo-ple.
The Lord did in-deed ac-com-plish great things for us.
We were happy and re-joiced.
O Lord, re-store our well-being,
just as the streams in/the ar-id south are re-plen-ished.
Those who shed tears as they plant-ed
will shout for joy when they reap the har-vest.
The one who weeps as he walks a-long,
carry-ing his bag of seed,
will certain-ly come in with/a shout of joy,
carry-ing his sheaves of grain.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Readings
A reading from 1 Corinthians 14:20-33, 39-40
Brothers and sisters, do not be children in your thinking; rather, be infants in evil, but in thinking be adults.
In the law it is written, "By people of strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners I will speak to this people; yet even then they will not listen to me," says the Lord. Tongues, then, are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers, while prophecy is not for unbelievers but for believers. If, therefore, the whole church comes together and all speak in tongues, and outsiders or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are out of your mind? But if all prophesy, an unbeliever or outsider who enters is reproved by all and called to account by all. After the secrets of the unbeliever's heart are disclosed, that person will bow down before God and worship him, declaring, "God is really among you."
What should be done then, my friends? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up. If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be only two or at most three, and each in turn; and let one interpret. But if there is no one to interpret, let them be silent in church and speak to themselves and to God. Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said. If a revelation is made to someone else sitting nearby, let the first person be silent. For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged. And the spirits of prophets are subject to the prophets, for God is a God not of disorder but of peace. (As in all the churches of the saints, So, my friends, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues; but all things should be done decently and in order.
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
Song of Penitence

O Lord and Ruler of/the hosts of heav-en,
God of Abra-ham, I-saac, and Ja-cob,
and of all their righteous off-spring:
You made the heavens and the earth,
with all their vast ar-ray.
All things quake with fear at your pres-ence;
they trem-ble be-cause of your power.
But your merci-ful promise is be-yond all meas-ure;
it sur-passes all that our minds can fath-om.
O Lord, you are full of com-pas-sion,
long-suffer-ing, and a-bounding in mer-cy.
You hold _ back your hand;
You do not punish as we de-serve.
In your great good-ness, Lord,
you have promised for-give-ness to sin-ners,
that they may re-pent of their sin and be saved.
And now, O Lord, I bend the knee of my heart,
and make my ap-peal, sure of your gracious good-ness.
I have sinned, O Lord, I have sinned,
and I know my wicked-ness only too well.
There-fore I make this prayer to you:
For-give me, Lord, for-give me.
Do not let me perish in my sin,
nor con-demn me to/the depths of/the earth.
For you, O Lord, are the God of those who re-pent,
and in me you will show forth your good-ness.
Un-worthy as I am, you will save me,
in ac-cordance with your great mer-cy,
and I will praise you without ceas-ing
all the days of my life.
For all the powers of heaven sing your praise,
and yours is the glory to ages of age. A-men.
A reading from Mark 9:42-50
"If any of you put a stumbling block before one of these little ones who believe in me, it would be better for you if a great millstone were hung around your neck and you were thrown into the sea. If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life maimed than to have two hands and to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire. And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life lame than to have two feet and to be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to stumble, tear it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and to be thrown into hell, where their worm never dies, and the fire is never quenched.
"For everyone will be salted with fire. Salt is good; but if salt has lost its saltiness, how can you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another."
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
Tuesday - Second Song of Isaiah
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Seek/the Lord while he wills to/be found;
call/up-on him when he draws near.
Let/the wicked for-sake their ways
and the evil ones their thoughts;
And let them turn to/the Lord,
and he will have com-pas-sion,
Let them/re-turn/to our God,
for he will richly par-don.
For my thoughts are/not your thoughts,
nor your ways my ways, says/the Lord.
For as/the heavens are higher than the earth,
so/are my ways higher than your ways,
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
For/as rain and snow fall from/the heav-ens
and re-turn not/a-gain,
but wat-er the whole earth,
Bring-ing forth life
and giving a-bun-dant growth
And seed for re-plan-ting
and bread/and fruit for eat-ing,
So/is my word that goes forth from my mouth;
it will not/re-turn/to me emp-ty;
But/it will ac-complish that which I have pur-posed,
and prosper in that for which I sent it.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

LEVAS2 Hymn 264 - Our Father
Piano Parts Soprano Alto Tenor Bass
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Let us pray.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.

Collect of the Day
Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ in his earthly life shared our toil and hallowed our labor: Be present with your people where they work; make those who carry on the industries and commerce of this land responsive to your will; and give to us all a pride in what we do, and a just return for our labor; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
