Wednesday - Easter Invitation

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Alle-lu-ia! Christ is ris-en.
The Lord is risen in-deed. Alle-lu-ia!
O give thanks to/the Lord, and call up-on his Name;
make known his deeds a-mong the peo-ples.

Thus says the high and lofty One
who in-habits e-terni-ty,
whose name is Ho-ly,
I dwell in/the high and holy place

and al-so with/the one who has a con-trite and hum-ble spi-rit,
to re-vive the spirit of/the hum-ble and the heart of/the con-trite.
Lord, o-pen our lips.
And our mouth shall pro-claim your praise.

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

Wednesday - Christ Our Passover

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Alle-lu-ia! Christ our Pass-over has been sacri-ficed for us;
there-fore let us keep the feast,
Not with old leaven, the leaven of mal-ice and e-vil,
but with/the un-leavened bread of sin-ceri-ty and truth. Alle-lu-ia!

Christ being raised from/the dead will never die a-gain;
death no longer has do-minion over him.
The death he died, he died to sin, once for all;
but the life he lives, he lives to God.

So al-so con-sider your-selves dead to sin,
and a-live to God in Je-sus Christ our Lord. Alle-lu-ia!
Christ has been raised from/the dead,
the first fruits of those who have fallen a-sleep.

For since by a man came death,
by a man has come al-so the resur-rec-tion of/the dead.
For as in A-dam all die,
so in Christ shall all be made a-live. Alle-lu-ia!

Psalms

Psalm 72

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

O God, grant the king
the a-bili-ty to make just de-ci-sions!
Grant the king's son
the a-bili-ty to make fair de-ci-sions!

Then he will judge your people fair-ly,
and your op-pressed ones equi-ta-bly.
The mountains will bring news of peace to/the peo-ple,
and the hills will an-nounce jus-tice.

He will de-fend the/op-pressed a-mong the peo-ple;
he will de-liver the children of/the poor and crush the op-pres-sor.
Peo-ple will fear you
as long/as the sun and moon re-main in/the sky,

For gener-ation after gener-a-tion,
He will de-scend like rain on/the mown grass,
like showers that drench the earth.
During his days the godly will flour-ish;

Peace will pre-vail
as long as the moon re-mains in/the sky.
May he rule from sea to sea,
and from/the Eu-phrates River to/the ends of/the earth!

Be-fore him the coastlands will bow down,
and his ene-mies will lick the dust.
The kings of Tar-shish and the coastlands will offer gifts;
the kings of She-bah and Se-bah will bring trib-ute.

All kings will bow down to him;
all na-tions will serve him.
For he will rescue the needy when they cry out for help,
and the op-pressed who have no de-fend-er.

He will take pity on/the poor and need-y;
the lives of/the needy he will save.
From harm and vio-lence he will de-fend them;
he will val-ue their lives.

May he live! May they offer him gold from She-bah!
May they con-tinual-ly pray for him!
May they pro-nounce blessings on him all day long!
May there be an/a-bundance of grain in/the earth;

On the tops of/the mountains may it sway!
May its fruit trees flourish like the forests of Leba-non!
May his fame en-dure!
May its crops be as/a-bundant as the grass of/the earth!

May his dynas-ty last
as long/as the sun re-mains in/the sky!
May they use his name when they make their bles-sings!
May all nations con-sider him to be favored by God!

The Lord God, the God of Isra-el, de-serves praise!
He a-lone ac-com-plishes a-mazing things!
His glo-rious name de-serves praise for-ever-more!
May his ma-jestic splendor fill the whole earth!

Al-le-lu-ia! A-men!
Let us praise the Lord our God!
His glo-rious name de-serves praise for-ever-more!
May his ma-jestic splendor fill the whole earth!

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for ever A-men.

Readings

A reading from Leviticus 19:1-18

The LORD spoke to Moses, saying: Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israel and say to them: You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy. You shall each revere your mother and father, and you shall keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your God. Do not turn to idols or make cast images for yourselves: I am the LORD your God. When you offer a sacrifice of well-being to the LORD, offer it in such a way that it is acceptable on your behalf. It shall be eaten on the same day you offer it, or on the next day; and anything left over until the third day shall be consumed in fire. If it is eaten at all on the third day, it is an abomination; it will not be acceptable. All who eat it shall be subject to punishment, because they have profaned what is holy to the LORD; and any such person shall be cut off from the people. When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap to the very edges of your field, or gather the gleanings of your harvest. You shall not strip your vineyard bare, or gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the alien: I am the LORD your God.

You shall not steal; you shall not deal falsely; and you shall not lie to one another. And you shall not swear falsely by my name, profaning the name of your God: I am the LORD. You shall not defraud your neighbor; you shall not steal; and you shall not keep for yourself the wages of a laborer until morning. You shall not revile the deaf or put a stumbling block before the blind; you shall fear your God: I am the LORD. You shall not render an unjust judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great: with justice you shall judge your neighbor. You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not profit by the blood of your neighbor: I am the LORD. You shall not hate in your heart anyone of your kin; you shall reprove your neighbor, or you will incur guilt yourself. You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against any of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.

Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Wednesday - Song of Creation

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Glori-fy the Lord, all you works of/the Lord,
praise him and highly ex-alt him for-ev-er.
In/the firma-ment of his power, glori-fy the Lord,
praise him and highly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Glori-fy the Lord, you angels and all powers of/the Lord,
O heavens and all waters a-bove the heav-ens.
Sun and moon and stars of/the sky, glori-fy the Lord,
praise him and highly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Glori-fy the Lord, every shower of rain and fall of dew,
all winds and fire and heat.
Winter and Summer, glori-fy the Lord,
praise him and highly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Glori-fy the Lord, O chill and cold,
drops of dew and flakes of snow.
Frost and cold, ice and sleet, glori-fy the Lord,
praise him and highly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Glori-fy the Lord, O nights and days,
O shining light and en-folding dark.
Storm clouds and thunder-bolts, glori-fy the Lord,
praise him and highly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Let the earth glori-fy the Lord,
praise him and highly ex-alt him for ev-er.
Glori-fy the Lord, O mountains and hills, and all/that grows up-on the earth,
praise him for ev-er. Glori-fy the Lord,

O springs of water, sea, and streams,
O whales and all that move in/the wat-ers.
All birds of/the air, glori-fy the Lord,
praise him and highly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Glori-fy the Lord, O beasts of/the wild,
and all you flocks and herds.
O men and women every-where, glori-fy the Lord,
praise him and highly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Let the people of God glori-fy the Lord,
praise him and highly ex-alt him for ev-er.
Glori-fy the Lord, O priests and servants of/the Lord,
praise him and highly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Glori-fy the Lord, O spirits and souls of/the right-eous
praise him and highly ex-alt him for ev-er.
You that are holy and hum-ble of heart, glori-fy the Lord,
praise him and highly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Let us glori-fy the Lord: Father, Son, and Holy Spi-rit;
praise him and highly ex-alt him for ev-er.
In/the firma-ment of his power, glori-fy the Lord,
praise him and highly ex-alt him for ev-er.

A reading from Matthew 6:19-24

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. "The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light; but if your eye is unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! "No one can serve two masters; for a slave will either hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Wednesday - Song of Mary

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

My soul pro-claims the greatness of/the Lord,
my spirit re-joices in God my Sav-ior;
for he has looked with favor on his lowly serv-ant.
From this day all gener-ations will call me blessed:

the Al-mighty has done great things for me,
and ho-ly is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in eve-ry gener-a-tion.

He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their con-ceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the low-ly.

He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent/a-way emp-ty.
He has come to/the help of his servant Isra-el,
for he has re-membered his promise of mer-cy,

The promise he made to our fath-ers,
to Abra-ham and his children for-ev-er.
My soul pro-claims the greatness of/the Lord,
my spirit re-joices in God my Sav-ior;

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

We/be-lieve in Je-sus Christ,
his on-ly son, our Lord.

He was/con-ceived by/the power of/the Ho-ly Spi-rit

was cruci-fied, died, and was bur-ied.

He de-scended to/the dead.
On/the third day he rose a-gain.
He a-scended into heav-en,
and is seated at/the right hand of/the Fath-er.

He will come a-gain
to judge the living and the dead.
We/be-lieve in/the Ho-ly Spi-rit,
the _ holy catho-lic Church,

the com-munion of saints,
the for-give-ness of sins,
the resur-rec-tion of/the bod-y,
and the life ever-lasting. A-men.

The Lord be with you.
And al-so with _ you.

Wednesday - Morning Suffrages A

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Show us your mercy, O Lord;
And grant us your sal-va-tion.
Clothe your minis-ters with righteous-ness;
Let your people sing with joy.

Give peace, O Lord, in all the world;
For only in you can we live in safe-ty.
Lord, keep this nation under your care;
And guide us in/the way of justice and truth.

Let your way be known up-on earth;
Your saving health a-mong all na-tions.
Let not the needy, O Lord, be/for-got-ten;
Nor the hope of/the poor be taken a-way.

Cre-ate in us clean hearts, O God;
And sus-tain us with your Holy Spi-rit.
Show us your mercy, O Lord;
And grant us your sal-va-tion.

Collect of the Day

Almighty God, the giver of all good gifts, in your divine providence you have appointed various orders in your Church: Give your grace, we humbly pray, to all who are [now] called to any office and ministry for your people; and so fill them with the truth of your doctrine and clothe them with holiness of life, that they may faithfully serve before you, to the glory of your great Name and for the benefit of your holy Church; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Amen.

A Collect for Grace

O Lord God, almighty and everlasting Father, you have brought us in safety to this new day: Preserve us with your mighty power, that we may not fall into sin, nor be overcome by adversity; and in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Prayer for Mission

Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of your faithful people is governed and sanctified: Receive our supplications and prayers which we offer before you for all members of your holy Church, that in their vocation and ministry they may truly and devoutly serve you; through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Al-mighty God, Father of all mer-cies,
we your un-worthy servants give you hum-ble thanks
for all your goodness and loving kind-ness
to us and/to all whom you have made.

We bless you for our cre-ation, preser-va-tion,
and all the blessings of this life;
but/a-bove all for your im-measur-able love
in/the re-demption of/the world by our Lord Je-sus Christ;

for/the means of grace, and for/the hope of glory.
And, we pray, give/us such/an a-ware-ness of your mer-cy,
that with truly thank-ful hearts
we may show forth your praise,

not only with our lips, but in our lives,
by giving up our-selves to your ser-vice,
and by walking be-fore you
in holi-ness and righteous-ness all our days;

through Je-sus Christ our Lord,
to whom, with you and the Ho-ly Spi-rit,
be hon-or and glo-ry
through-out all the ag-es. A-men.
