Alle-lu-ia! Christ is ris-en.
The Lord is risen in-deed. Alle-lu-ia!
O give thanks to/the Lord, and call up-on his Name;
make known his deeds a-mong the peo-ples.
Thus says the high and lofty One
who in-habits e-terni-ty,
whose name is Ho-ly,
I dwell in/the high and holy place
and al-so with/the one who has a con-trite and hum-ble spi-rit,
to re-vive the spirit of/the hum-ble and the heart of/the con-trite.
Lord, o-pen our lips.
And our mouth shall pro-claim your praise.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Friday - Christ Our Passover
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Alle-lu-ia! Christ our Pass-over has been sacri-ficed for us;
there-fore let us keep the feast,
Not with old leaven, the leaven of mal-ice and e-vil,
but with/the un-leavened bread of sin-ceri-ty and truth. Alle-lu-ia!
Christ being raised from/the dead will never die a-gain;
death no longer has do-minion over him.
The death he died, he died to sin, once for all;
but the life he lives, he lives to God.
So al-so con-sider your-selves dead to sin,
and a-live to God in Je-sus Christ our Lord. Alle-lu-ia!
Christ has been raised from/the dead,
the first fruits of those who have fallen a-sleep.
For since by a man came death,
by a man has come al-so the resur-rec-tion of/the dead.
For as in A-dam all die,
so in Christ shall all be made a-live. Alle-lu-ia!

Lord. O Lord, hear my prayer!
Pay at-tention to my cry for help!
Do not ig-nore me in/my time of trou-ble!
Listen to me! When I call out to you, quickly answer me!
For my days go up in smoke,
and my bones are charred like/a fire-place.
My heart is parched and withered like grass,
for I am un-able to eat food.
Be-cause of/the anx-ie-ty that makes me groan,
my bones pro-trude from my skin.
I am like an owl in/the wilder-ness;
I am like a screech owl a-mong the ruins.
I stay/a-wake; I am like/a soli-tary bird on/a roof.
All day long my ene-mies taunt me;
those who mock me use my name in their curs-es.
For I eat ashes as if they were bread.
I mix my drink with my tears,
be-cause/of your anger and raging fu-ry.
In-deed, you pick me/up and throw me/a-way.
My days are coming to an end.
I am withered like grass.
But you, O Lord, rule for-ev-er,
and your repu-tation en-dures.
You will rise up and have com-passion on Zi-on.
For it is time to have mercy on her,
for the ap-pointed time has come.
In-deed, your servants take de-light in her stones,
and feel com-passion for/the dust of her ruins.
The nations will re-spect the repu-tation of/the Lord,
and all/the kings of/the earth will re-spect his splen-dor,
when the Lord re-builds Zi-on, and re-veals his splen-dor,
when he re-sponds to/the prayer of/the desti-tute.
He does not re-ject their re-quest.
The ac-count of his inter-vention will be re-corded for future gener-a-tions;
people yet to/be born will praise the Lord.
For he will look down from his sanctu-ary a-bove;
From heaven the Lord will look toward earth,
in order to hear the painful cries of/the prison-er,
and to set free those con-demned to die,
so they may pro-claim the name of/the Lord in Zi-on,
And praise him in Je-rusa-lem,
when the nations gather to-geth-er,
and the kingdoms pay tribute to/the Lord.
He has taken a-way my strength in/the middle of life;
He has cut short my days. I say,
O my God, please do/not take me/a-way in/the middle of my life!
You en-dure through all gener-a-tions.
In earli-er times you es-tablished the earth;
The skies are your handi-work.
They will perish, but you will en-dure.
They will wear out like/a gar-ment;
like clothes you will re-move them and they will disap-pear.
But you re-main;
your years do not come to/an end.
The children of your servants will settle down here,
and their de-scendants will live se-curely in your pres-ence.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Readings
A reading from Jeremiah 31:27-34
The days are surely coming, says the LORD, when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of humans and the seed of animals. And just as I have watched over them to pluck up and break down, to overthrow, destroy, and bring evil, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, says the LORD. In those days they shall no longer say: "The parents have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge." But all shall die for their own sins; the teeth of everyone who eats sour grapes shall be set on edge. The days are surely coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant that I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypta covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, says the LORD. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, "Know the LORD," for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more.
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
Friday - You are God
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
You are God: we praise you;
You are the Lord; we/ac-claim you;
You are the e-ternal Fath-er:
All cre-ation wor-ships you.
To you all angels, all the powers of heav-en,
Cheru-bim and Sera-phim, sing in endless praise:
Holy, ho-ly, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full/of your glo-ry.
The glori-ous compan-y of/a-postles praises you.
The noble fellow-ship of prophets praises you.
The white-robed army of martyrs praises you.
Through-out/the world the holy Church ac-claims you;
Father, of majes-ty un-bound-ed,
your true and on-ly Son,
worthy of all wor-ship,
and the Holy Spirit, advo-cate and guide.
You, Christ, are/the king of glo-ry,
the e-ternal Son of/the Fath-er.
When you be-came man/to set us free
you did not shun the Virgin's womb.
You over-came the sting of death
and opened the kingdom of heaven to all be-liev-ers.
You are seated at God's right hand in glo-ry.
We/be-lieve that you will come and be our judge.
Come then, Lord, and help your peo-ple,
bought with/the price of your own blood,
and bring us with all your saints
to glory ever-lasting. A-men.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
A reading from Matthew 9:9-17
As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax booth; and he said to him, "Follow me." And he got up and followed him. And as he sat at dinner in the house, many tax collectors and sinners came and were sitting with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?" But when he heard this, he said, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have come to call not the righteous but sinners."
Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast?" And Jesus said to them, "The wedding guests cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them, can they? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast. No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old cloak, for the patch pulls away from the cloak, and a worse tear is made. Neither is new wine put into old wineskins; otherwise, the skins burst, and the wine is spilled, and the skins are destroyed; but new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved."
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
Friday - First Song of Isaiah

Surely, it/is God who saves me;
I/will trust in him and not be/a-fraid.
For/the Lord is my stronghold and my sure de-fense,
and he will be my Sav-ior.
Therefore you shall draw water with re-joic-ing
from/the springs of sal-va-tion.
And/on that day you shall say,
Give thanks to/the Lord and call up-on his Name;
Make his deeds known/a-mong the peo-ples;
see that they re-member that his Name is ex-alt-ed.
Sing the praises of/the Lord,
for he has done great things,
And this/is known in all the world.
Cry/a-loud, in-habit-ants of Zion, ring out your joy,
for/the great one in/the midst of you
is the Holy One of Is-ra-el.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

Save your people, Lord,
and bless your in-herit-ance;
Govern and guide them, Lord
and up-hold them, now and al-ways.
Day by day we bless you;
We praise your name for-ever.
Lord, keep us from all sin to-day;
Have mercy on us, Lord, have mer-cy.
Lord, show us your love and mer-cy;
For we put our trust in you.
In you, Lord, is our hope;
And we shall never hope in vain.
Collects of the Day
O God, you have prepared for those who love you such good things as surpass our understanding: Pour into our hearts such love towards you, that we, loving you in all things and above all things, may obtain your promises, which exceed all that we can desire; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
A Collect for Fridays
Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Prayer for Mission
Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name.
Amen.
