Alle-lu-ia! Christ is ris-en.
The Lord is risen in-deed. Alle-lu-ia!
O give thanks to/the Lord, and call up-on his Name;
make known his deeds a-mong the peo-ples.
Thus says the high and lofty One
who in-habits e-terni-ty,
whose name is Ho-ly,
I dwell in/the high and holy place
and al-so with/the one who has a con-trite and hum-ble spi-rit,
to re-vive the spirit of/the hum-ble and the heart of/the con-trite.
Lord, o-pen our lips.
And our mouth shall pro-claim your praise.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Friday - Christ Our Passover
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Alle-lu-ia! Christ our Pass-over has been sacri-ficed for us;
there-fore let us keep the feast,
Not with old leaven, the leaven of mal-ice and e-vil,
but with/the un-leavened bread of sin-ceri-ty and truth. Alle-lu-ia!
Christ being raised from/the dead will never die a-gain;
death no longer has do-minion over him.
The death he died, he died to sin, once for all;
but the life he lives, he lives to God.
So al-so con-sider your-selves dead to sin,
and a-live to God in Je-sus Christ our Lord. Alle-lu-ia!
Christ has been raised from/the dead,
the first fruits of those who have fallen a-sleep.
For since by a man came death,
by a man has come al-so the resur-rec-tion of/the dead.
For as in A-dam all die,
so in Christ shall all be made a-live. Alle-lu-ia!
Psalms
Psalm 85
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
O Lord, you showed favor to your land;
you re-stored the well-being of Ja-cob.
You pardoned the wrong-doing of your peo-ple;
you for-gave all their sin.
You with-drew all your fu-ry;
you turned back from your raging an-ger.
Re-store us, O God our de-liver-er!
Do not be dis-pleased with us!
Will you stay mad at us for-ev-er?
Will you re-main angry through-out future gener-a-tions?
Will you not re-vive us once more?
Then your people will re-joice in you!
O Lord, show us your loyal love!
Be-stow on us your de-liver-ance!
I will listen to what God the Lord says.
For he will make peace with his people, his faithful follow-ers.
Yet they must not re-turn to their foolish ways.
Certain-ly his loyal follow-ers will soon ex-peri-ence his de-liver-ance;
then his splendor will a-gain ap-pear in our land.
Loyal love and faithful-ness meet;
De-liver-ance and peace greet each other with a kiss.
Faithful-ness grows _ from/the ground,
and de-liver-ance looks down from/the sky.
Yes, the Lord will be-stow his good bles-sings,
O Lord, show us your loyal love!
And our land will yield its crops.
De-liver-ance goes be-fore him,
and pre-pares a path-way for him.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Psalm 86
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Lis-ten O Lord! An-swer me!
For I am op-pressed and need-y.
Pro-tect me, for I am loyal! You are my God;
de-liver your servant who trusts in you!
Have mer-cy on me, O Lord,
for I cry out to you all day long!
Make your serv-ant glad,
for to you, O Lord, I pray!
Certain-ly O Lord, you are kind and for-giv-ing,
and show great faithful-ness to all who cry out to you.
O Lord, hear my prayer!
Pay at-ten-tion to my plea for mer-cy!
In my time of trou-ble I cry out to you,
for you will an-swer me.
None can com-pare to you a-mong the gods, O Lord!
Your ex-ploits are in-compa-ra-ble!
All the na-tions, whom you cre-at-ed,
will come and wor-ship you, O Lord.
They will honor your name.
For you are great and do a-mazing things.
You a-lone are God.
O Lord, teach me how you want me to live!
Then I will o-bey your com-mands.
Make me whole-hearted-ly com-mitted to you!
O Lord, my God, I will give you thanks with my whole heart!
I will hon-or your name con-tin-ual-ly!
For you will ex-tend your great loyal love to me,
and will de-liver my life from/the depths of She-ol.
O God, ar-ro-gant men at-tack me;
a gang of ruthless men, who do not re-spect you, seek my life.
But you, O Lord, are a com-passion-ate and merci-ful God.
You are pa-tient and demon-strate great loyal love and faithful-ness.
Turn toward me and have mer-cy on me!
Give your serv-ant your strength!
De-liver this child of your fe-male serv-ant!
Show me evi-dence of your fa-vor!
Then those who hate me will see it and be a-shamed,
for you, O Lord, will help me and comfort me.
Make your serv-ant glad,
for to you, O Lord, I pray!
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Readings
A reading from 1 Samuel 2:1-10
Hannah prayed and said, "My heart exults in the LORD; my strength is exalted in my God. My mouth derides my enemies, because I rejoice in my victory. "There is no Holy One like the LORD, no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God. Talk no more so very proudly, let not arrogance come from your mouth; for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. The bows of the mighty are broken, but the feeble gird on strength. Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread, but those who were hungry are fat with spoil. The barren has borne seven, but she who has many children is forlorn. The LORD kills and brings to life; he brings down to Sheol and raises up. The LORD makes poor and makes rich; he brings low, he also exalts. He raises up the poor from the dust; he lifts the needy from the ash heap, to make them sit with princes and inherit a seat of honor. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and on them he has set the world. "He will guard the feet of his faithful ones, but the wicked shall be cut off in darkness; for not by might does one prevail. The LORD! His adversaries shall be shattered; the Most High will thunder in heaven. The LORD will judge the ends of the earth; he will give strength to his king, and exalt the power of his anointed."
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
Friday - First Song of Isaiah
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Surely, it/is God who saves me;
I/will trust in him and not be/a-fraid.
For/the Lord is my stronghold and my sure de-fense,
and he will be my Sav-ior.
Therefore you shall draw water with re-joic-ing
from/the springs of sal-va-tion.
And/on that day you shall say,
Give thanks to/the Lord and call up-on his Name;
Make his deeds known/a-mong the peo-ples;
see that they re-member that his Name is ex-alt-ed.
Sing the praises of/the Lord,
for he has done great things,
And this/is known in all the world.
Cry/a-loud, in-habit-ants of Zion, ring out your joy,
for/the great one in/the midst of you
is the Holy One of Is-ra-el.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
A reading from Matthew 7:22-27
On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name?' Then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers.' "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it felland great was its fall!"
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Save your people, Lord,
and bless your in-herit-ance;
Govern and guide them, Lord
and up-hold them, now and al-ways.
Day by day we bless you;
We praise your name for-ever.
Lord, keep us from all sin to-day;
Have mercy on us, Lord, have mer-cy.
Lord, show us your love and mer-cy;
For we put our trust in you.
In you, Lord, is our hope;
And we shall never hope in vain.
Collects of the Day
O God, you have prepared for those who love you such good things as surpass our understanding: Pour into our hearts such love towards you, that we, loving you in all things and above all things, may obtain your promises, which exceed all that we can desire; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
A Collect for Fridays
Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Prayer for Mission
Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name.
Amen.
