Grace to you and peace from God our Fa-ther
and from/the Lord Je-sus Christ.
Worship the Lord in/the beauty of his holi-ness;
let/the whole earth trem-ble be-fore him.

Let my prayer be set forth/in your sight as in-cense,
the lifting up/of my hands as/the evening sacri-fice.
I will bless the Lord who gives/me coun-sel;
my heart teaches me, night after night.

I have set/the Lord always be-fore me;
be-cause he is/at my right hand, I shall not fall.
O God, make speed/to save us.
O Lord, make haste/to help us.

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

Monday - O Gracious Light

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

O gracious light, pure bright-ness
of the ever-living Father in heav-en,
O Je-sus Christ, holy and bless-ed!
we sing your praises, O God!

Now as/we come to/the setting of/the sun,
and our eyes be-hold/the vesper light,
we sing your praises, O God:
Father, Son, and Ho-ly Spi-rit.

You are worthy at all times
to be praised by happy voic-es,
O Son of God, O Giver of life,
and/to be glori-fied through all the worlds.

Psalms

Psalm 146

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul!
I will praise the Lord as long/as I live!
I will sing praises to my God as long/as I ex-ist!
Do/not trust in princes, or/in man kind, who can-not de-liv-er!

Their life's breath de-parts,
they re-turn to/the ground; on/that day their plans die.
How blessed is the one whose helper is the God of Ja-cob,
whose hope is in/the Lord his God,

the one who made heaven and earth,
the seas, and all that is in them,
who re-mains for-ever faith-ful,
and vindi-cates the op-pressed,

The Lord gives food to/the hun-gry.
The Lord re-leases the im-pris-oned.
The Lord gives sight to/the blind.
The Lord lifts up all who are bent o-ver.

The Lord loves the god-ly.
The Lord pro-tects the resi-dent foreign-er;
he lifts up the father-less
and cares _ for/the wid-ow,

But he op-poses the wick-ed.
The Lord rules for-ever, your God, O Zi-on,
through-out the gener-a-tions to come!
Praise the Lord for-ev-er!

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

Psalm 147

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Praise the Lord, for it/is good
to sing praises to our God!
Yes, praise is pleasant and ap-propri-ate!
The Lord re-builds Je-rusa-lem,

And gathers the ex-iles of Isra-el.
He heals the broken-heart-ed,
and banda-ges their wounds.
He counts the stars and names them all.

Our Lord is great and has awesome power;
there is no limit to his wis-dom.
The Lord lifts up the op-pressed,
but knocks the wicked to/the ground.

Offer to/the Lord a song of thanks!
Sing praises to our God to/the ac-compan-iment of/a harp!
He covers the sky with clouds,
He pro-vides the earth with rain,

And causes grass to grow on/the hill-side.
He gives food to/the ani-mals,
and to/the young ravens when they chirp.
He is not en-amored with/the strength of/a horse,

Nor/is he im-pressed by/the warri-or's strong legs.
The Lord takes de-light in his faithful follow-ers,
and/in those who wait for his loyal love.
Ex-tol the Lord, O Je-rusa-lem! Praise your God, O Zi-on!

For he makes/the bars of your gates strong.
He blesses your children with-in you.
He brings peace to your terri-to-ry.
He a-bundant-ly pro-vides for you the best grain.

He sends his com-mand through/the earth;
swiftly his order reaches its desti-na-tion.
He sends the snow that/is white like wool;
He spreads the frost that/is white like ash-es.

He throws his hail-stones like crumbs.
Who can/with-stand the cold wind he sends?
He then orders it all to melt;
He breathes on it, and/the water flows.

He pro-claims his word to Ja-cob,
his statutes and regu-lations to Isra-el.
He has/not done so with any other na-tion;
they are not/a-ware of his regu-lations. Praise the Lord!

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

Readings

A reading from Isaiah 11:1-10

A shoot shall come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots. The spirit of the LORD shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. His delight shall be in the fear of the LORD. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide by what his ears hear; but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked. Righteousness shall be the belt around his waist, and faithfulness the belt around his loins. The wolf shall live with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the kid, the calf and the lion and the fatling together, and a little child shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall graze, their young shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play over the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put its hand on the adder's den. They will not hurt or destroy on all my holy mountain; for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.

On that day the root of Jesse shall stand as a signal to the peoples; the nations shall inquire of him, and his dwelling shall be glorious.

Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Monday - Third Song of Isaiah

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

A-rise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of/the Lord has dawned up-on you.
For/be-hold, darkness covers the land;
deep gloom en-shrouds the peo-ples.

But over you the Lord will rise,
and his glory will/ap-pear up-on you.
Nations will stream to your light,
and kings to/the brightness of your dawn-ing.

Your gates will always be o-pen;
by day or night they will never be shut.
They will call you, The City of/the Lord,
The Zion of/the Holy One of Is-ra-el.

Vio-lence will/no more be heard in your land,
ruin or de-struction with-in your bor-ders.
You will call your walls, Sal-va-tion,
and all your por-tals, Praise.

The sun will/no more be your light by day;
by night you will/not need the brightness of/the moon.
The Lord will be your ever-last-ing light,
and your God will be your glo-ry.

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for ever. A-men.

A reading from Hebrews 2:11-18

For the one who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one Father. For this reason Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters, saying, "I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters, in the midst of the congregation I will praise you." And again, "I will put my trust in him." And again, "Here am I and the children whom God has given me."

Since, therefore, the children share flesh and blood, he himself likewise shared the same things, so that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by the fear of death. For it is clear that he did not come to help angels, but the descendants of Abraham. Therefore he had to become like his brothers and sisters in every respect, so that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make a sacrifice of atonement for the sins of the people. Because he himself was tested by what he suffered, he is able to help those who are being tested.

Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Monday - You are God

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

You are God: we praise you;
You are the Lord; we/ac-claim you;
You are the e-ternal Fath-er:
All cre-ation wor-ships you.

To you all angels, all the powers of heav-en,
Cheru-bim and Sera-phim, sing in endless praise:
Holy, ho-ly, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full/of your glo-ry.

The glori-ous compan-y of/a-postles praises you.
The noble fellow-ship of prophets praises you.
The white-robed army of martyrs praises you.
Through-out/the world the holy Church ac-claims you;

Father, of majes-ty un-bound-ed,
your true and on-ly Son,
worthy of all wor-ship,
and the Holy Spirit, advo-cate and guide.

You, Christ, are/the king of glo-ry,
the e-ternal Son of/the Fath-er.
When you be-came man/to set us free
you did not shun the Virgin's womb.

You over-came the sting of death
and opened the kingdom of heaven to all be-liev-ers.
You are seated at God's right hand in glo-ry.
We/be-lieve that you will come and be our judge.

Come then, Lord, and help your peo-ple,
bought with/the price of your own blood,
and bring us with all your saints
to glory ever-lasting. A-men.

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

Monday Creed

We/be-lieve in God, the Father al-might-y,
cre-ator of heaven and earth.
We/be-lieve in Je-sus Christ,
his on-ly son, our Lord.

He was/con-ceived by/the power of/the Ho-ly Spi-rit
and born of/the Vir-gin Mar-y.
He suffered under Pon-tius Pi-late,
was cruci-fied, died, and was bur-ied.

He de-scended to/the dead.
On/the third day he rose a-gain.
He a-scended into heav-en,
and is seated at/the right hand of/the Fath-er.

He will come a-gain
to judge the living and the dead.
We/be-lieve in/the Ho-ly Spi-rit,
the _ holy catho-lic Church,

the com-munion of saints,
the for-give-ness of sins,
the resur-rec-tion of/the bod-y,
and the life ever-lasting. A-men.

The Lord be with you.
And al-so with _ you.
Our Father in heav-en,
hal-low-ed be your Name.

Your king-dom come,
your will be done on earth
as/it is in heav-en.
Give us to-day our daily bread.

For-give us our sins
as we _ for-give those
who sin a-gainst us.
Save us from/the time of tri-al

De-liver us from e-vil.
For the king-dom, the power,
and the glory are yours,
now and for-ever A-men.

Monday - Evening Suffrages A

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Show us your mercy, O Lord;
And grant us your sal-va-tion.
Clothe your minis-ters with righteous-ness;
Let your people sing with joy.

Give peace, O Lord, in all the world;
For only in you can we live in safe-ty.
Lord, keep this nation under your care;
And guide us in/the way of justice and truth.

Let your way be known up-on earth;
Your saving health among all na-tions.
Let not the needy, O Lord, be for-got-ten;
Nor the hope of/the poor be taken a-way.

Cre-ate in us clean hearts, O God;
And sus-tain us by your Holy Spi-rit.
Show us your mercy, O Lord;
And grant us your sal-va-tion.

Collect of the Day

Almighty God, Lord of heaven and earth: We humbly pray that your gracious providence may give and preserve to our use the harvests of the land and of the seas, and may prosper all who labor to gather them, that we, who are constantly receiving good things from your hand, may always give you thanks; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Amen.

A Collect for Peace

Most holy God, the source of all good desires, all right judgements, and all just works: Give to us, your servants, that peace which the world cannot give, so that our minds may be fixed on the doing of your will, and that we, being delivered from the fear of all enemies, may live in peace and quietness; through the mercies of Christ Jesus our Savior.

Amen.

Prayer for Mission

O God and Father of all, whom the whole heavens adore: Let the whole earth also worship you, all nations obey you, all tongues confess and bless you, and men and women everywhere love you and serve you in peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

A Prayer of Saint Chrysostom

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Al-might-y God,
you have given us grace at this time
with one ac-cord
to make our common suppli-cation to you;

and you have prom-ised
through your well be-loved Son
that when two/or three are gathered in his Name
you will be in/the midst of them:

Ful-fill now, O Lord, our de-sires and pe-ti-tions
as may be best for us;
granting us in this world knowledge of your truth,
and in/the age to come life ever-lasting. A-men.
