Watch, for you know not when
the master of/the house will come,
at dusk, by night, at dawn, or by day;
lest he come sudden-ly and find you a-sleep.
In/the wilder-ness pre-pare the way of/the Lord,
make straight in/the desert a highway for our God.
The glory of/the Lord shall be re-vealed,
and all flesh shall see/it to-geth-er.
The hour is coming, and now is,
when the true wor-ship-ers
will wor-ship the Fath-er
in spi-rit and in truth,
for such are the follow-ers
the Fath-er seeks to wor-ship him.
Lord, o-pen our lips.
And our mouths shall pro-claim your praise.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Thursday - Jubilate
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Be joy-ful in/the Lord, all you lands;
serve the Lord with glad-ness
and come be-fore his presence with a song.
Know this: The Lord him-self is God;
He him-self has made us, and we are his;
we are his people and the sheep of his pas-ture.
Enter his gates with thanks-giv-ing;
go into his courts with praise;
Give thanks to him and call on his Name.
Be-cause the Lord is good;
his mercy is ever last-ing;
and his faithful-ness en-dures from age to age.
Psalms
Psalm 50
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
El, God, the Lord has spo-ken,
and summoned the earth to come from east and west.
From Zi-on, the most beauti-ful of all plac-es,
God has come in splen-dor.
May our God come and not be si-lent.
Con-suming fire goes a-head of him
and all/a-round him a storm rag-es.
He summons the heavens a-bove, as well as/the earth,
so that he might judge his peo-ple.
He says: As-semble my cove-nant people be-fore me,
those who rati-fied a cove-nant with me by sacri-fice!
The heavens de-clare his fair-ness, for God is judge.
He says: List-en my peo-ple!
I am speaking! List-en Isra-el!
I am ac-cusing you! I am God, your God!
I am not con-demning you be-cause/of your sacri-fic-es,
or be-cause/of your burnt sacri-fic-es
that you con-tinual-ly offer me.
I don't need to take bulls from your house-hold
nor goats from your sheep-fold.
For every wild ani-mal in/the forest be-longs to me,
as well as the cattle that graze on/a thousand hills.
I keep track of every bird in/the hills,
and the in-sects of/the field are mine.
Even if I were hungry, I would not tell you,
for the world and all it con-tains be-long to me.
Do I eat the flesh of bulls?
Do I drink the blood of goats?
Pre-sent to God a thank offer-ing!
Re-pay your vows to/the Most High!
Pray to me when you are in trou-ble!
I will de-liver you, and you will honor me!
God says this to/the evil-do-ers:
How can you de-clare my com-mands,
and talk a-bout my cove-nant?
For you hate in-struction and re-ject my words.
When you see/a thief, you join him;
you as-so-ciate with men who are un-faithful to their wives.
You do damage with words, and use your tongue to de-ceive.
You plot a-gainst your broth-er;
You slander your own broth-er.
When you did these things, I was si-lent,
so you thought I was ex-actly like you.
But now I will con-demn you
I will state my case a-gainst you!
Care-ful-ly con-sider this,
you who re-ject God!
Other-wise I will rip you to shreds
And no one will be able to res-cue you.
Who-ever pre-sents a thank offer-ing honors me.
To who-ever o-beys my com-mands,
I will re-veal my power to de-liv-er.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for ever A-men.
Readings
A reading from Zechariah 4:1-14
The angelic messenger who had been speaking with me then returned and woke me, as a person is wakened from sleep. He asked me, “What do you see?” I replied, “I see a menorah of pure gold with a receptacle at the top. There are seven lamps at the top, with seven pipes going to the lamps. There are also two olive trees beside it, one on the right of the receptacle and the other on the left. ” Then I asked the messenger who spoke with me, “What are these, sir?” He replied, “Don’t you know what these are?” So I responded, “No, sir. ” Therefore he told me, “This is the Lord’s message to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by strength and not by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. ”
“What are you, you great mountain? Because of Zerubbabel you will become a level plain! And he will bring forth the temple capstone with shoutings of ‘Grace! Grace!’ because of this. ”Moreover, the Lord’s message came to me as follows: “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundations of this temple, and his hands will complete it. ” Then you will know that the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has sent me to you. For who dares make light of small beginnings? These seven eyes will joyfully look on the tin tablet in Zerubbabel’s hand. (These are the eyes of the Lord, which constantly range across the whole earth. )
Next I asked the messenger, “What are these two olive trees on the right and the left of the menorah?” Before he could reply I asked again, “What are these two extensions of the olive trees, which are emptying out the golden oil through the two golden pipes?” He replied, “Don’t you know what these are?” And I said, “No, sir. ” So he said, “These are the two anointed ones who stand by the Lord of the whole earth. ”
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
Thursday - Song of Moses
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
I will sing to/the Lord,
for he is lofty and up-lift-ed;
the horse and its rid-er
has he hurled into the sea.
The Lord is my strength and my ref-uge;
the Lord has be-come my Sav-ior.
This is my God and I will praise him,
the God of my people and I will ex-alt him.
The Lord is a mighty warri-or;
Yah-weh is his holy Name.
The chari-ots of Phar-oah and his ar-my
has he hurled into the sea;
The finest of those who bear ar-mor
have been drowned in/the Red Sea.
The fathom-less deep has over-whelmed them;
they sank into the depths like a stone.
Your right hand, O Lord,
is glori-ous and might-y;
your right hand, O Lord,
has over-thrown the ene-my.
Who can be com-pared with you,
O Lord, a-mong the gods?
who is like you,
glori-ous in ho-li-ness,
Awe-some in re-nown,
and work-er of won-ders?
You stretched forth your right hand;
the earth swal-lowed them up.
With your con-stant love
you led the people you re-deemed;
with your might you brought them in safe-ty
to your holy dwell-ing place.
You will bring them in and plant them
on the mount of your pos-ses-sion,
In/the rest-ing place
you have made for your-self, O Lord,
In/the sanctu-ary, O Lord,
that your hand has es-tab-lished.
The Lord shall reign
for ever and for ever. A-men!
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for ever A-men.
A reading from Matthew 25:1-13
“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like 10 virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of the virgins were foolish, and five were wise. When the foolish ones took their lamps, they did not take extra olive oil with them. But the wise ones took flasks of olive oil with their lamps. When the bridegroom was delayed a long time, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Look, the bridegroom is here! Come out to meet him.’ Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil because our lamps are going out.’ ‘No,’ they replied. ‘There won’t be enough for you and for us. Go instead to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’ But while they had gone to buy it, the bridegroom arrived, and those who were ready went inside with him to the wedding banquet. Then the door was shut. Later, the other virgins came too, saying, ‘Lord, lord! Let us in!’ But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I do not know you!’ Therefore stay alert because you do not know the day or the hour.
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Glory to you, Lord God of our fath-ers;
you are worthy of praise; glory to you.
Glory to you for/the radi-ance of your holy Name;
we will praise you and highly ex-alt you for ev-er.
Glory to you in/the splen-dor of your tem-ple;
on the throne of your maj-es-ty, glory to you.
Glory to you, seated be-tween the Cher-u-bim;
we will praise you and highly ex-alt you for ev-er.
Glory to you, be-hold-ing the depths;
in the high vault of heav-en, glory to you.
Glory to you, Fath-er, Son, and Ho-ly Spi-rit;
we will praise you and highly ex-alt you for ev-er.

Show us your mercy, O Lord;
And grant us your sal-va-tion.
Clothe your minis-ters with righteous-ness;
Let your people sing with joy.
Give peace, O Lord, in all the world;
For only in you can we live in safe-ty.
Lord, keep this nation under your care;
And guide us in/the way of justice and truth.
Let your way be known up-on earth;
Your saving health a-mong all na-tions.
Let not the needy, O Lord, be/for-got-ten;
Nor the hope of/the poor be taken a-way.
Cre-ate in us clean hearts, O God;
And sus-tain us with your Holy Spi-rit.
Show us your mercy, O Lord;
And grant us your sal-va-tion.
Collect of the Day
Almighty God, whose blessed Son our Savior Jesus Christ ascended far above all heavens that he might fill all things: Mercifully give us faith to perceive that, according to his promise, he abides with his Church on earth, even to the end of the ages; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting.
Amen.
A Collect for Guidance
Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Prayer for Mission
O God, you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth, and sent your blessed Son to preach peace to those who are far off and to those who are near: Grant that people everywhere may seek after you and find you; bring the nations into your fold; pour out your Spirit upon all flesh; and hasten the coming of your kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
