Be-hold, I bring you good news of great joy,
which will come to all the peo-ple;
for unto you is born this day
in the city of Da-vid,
a Sav-ior, who is Christ the Lord.
Be-hold, the dwelling of God is with man-kind.
He will dwell with them,
and they shall be his peo-ple,
and God him-self will be with them,
and He will be their God.
Lord, o-pen our lips.
And our mouth shall pro-claim your praise.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Saturday - Venite

Come, let's sing to/the Lord;
let's shout for joy to/the Rock of our sal-va-tion.
Let's come be-fore his presence with thanks-giv-ing
and raise a loud shout to him with psalms.
For the Lord is/a great God,
and a great King a-bove all gods.
In his hand are the caverns of/the earth,
and the heights of/the hills are his al-so.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands have molded the dry land.
Come, let's bow down, and bend the knee,
and kneel be-fore the Lord our Mak-er.
For he is our God,
and we are the people of his pas-ture
and the sheep of his hand.
Oh, that to-day you would hearken to his voice!
Psalms
Psalm 103

Praise the Lord, O my soul!
With all that is with-in me, praise his holy name!
Praise the Lord, O my soul!
Do not for-get all his kind deeds!
He's the one who for-gives all your sins,
who heals all your dis-eas-es,
who de-livers your life from/the Pit,
who crowns you with his loyal love and com-pas-sion,
who satis-fies your life with good things,
so your youth is re-newed like an ea-gle.
The Lord does what is fair,
and exe-cutes justice for all the op-pressed.
The Lord re-vealed his faithful acts to Mo-ses,
his deeds to/the Is-rael-ites.
The Lord is com-passion-ate and mer-ci-ful;
he is pa-tient and demon-strates great loyal love.
He does not always ac-cuse,
and does not stay an-gry.
He does not deal with us as our sins de-serve;
he does not re-pay us as our mis-deeds de-serve.
For as/the skies are high/a-bove the earth,
so his loyal love towers over his faithful follow-ers.
As far as/the east is from/the west,
so he re-moves the guilt of our re-bel-lious ac-tions from us.
As a father has com-passion on his chil-dren,
so the Lord has com-passion on his faithful follow-ers.
For he knows what we are made of;
he real-izes we are made of clay.
A person's life is like grass.
Like a flower in/the field it flourish-es,
but when the hot wind blows by, it disap-pears,
and one can no longer spot where it once grew.
But the Lord con-tinual-ly shows loyal love
to _ his faithful follow-ers,
and is faithful to their de-scend-ants,
to those who keep his cove-nant,
who are careful to o-bey his com-mands.
The Lord has es-tablished his throne in heav-en;
his kingdom ex-tends over eve-ry-thing.
Praise the Lord, you an-gels of his,
you power-ful warri-ors
who carry out his de-crees
and o-bey his or-ders!
Praise the Lord, all you warri-ors of his,
You servants of his who carry out his de-sires!
Praise the Lord, all that he has made,
in all the regions of his king-dom!
Praise the Lord, O my soul!
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Readings
A reading from Genesis 17:1-12, 15-16
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said to him, "I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless. And I will make my covenant between me and you, and will make you exceedingly numerous. "Then Abram fell on his face; and God said to him,
"As for me, this is my covenant with you: You shall be the ancestor of a multitude of nations. No longer shall your name be Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you the ancestor of a multitude of nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you.
I will establish my covenant between me and you, and your offspring after you throughout their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you. And I will give to you, and to your offspring after you, the land where you are now an alien, all the land of Canaan, for a perpetual holding; and I will be their God. "God said to Abraham, "As for you, you shall keep my covenant, you and your offspring after you throughout their generations. This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised. You shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you. Throughout your generations every male among you shall be circumcised when he is eight days old, including the slave born in your house and the one bought with your money from any foreigner who is not of your offspring.
God said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. I will bless her, and moreover I will give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she shall give rise to nations; kings of peoples shall come from her. "
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
Saturday - You are God
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
You are God: we praise you;
You are the Lord; we ac-claim you;
You are the e-ter-nal Fath-er:
All cre-a-tion wor-ships you.
To you all an-gels, all the powers of heav-en,
Cher-u-bim and Ser-a-phim, sing in end-less praise:
Holy, ho-ly, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heav-en and earth are full of your glo-ry.
The glori-ous compan-y of a-postles praises you.
The no-ble fellow-ship of proph-ets praises you.
The white-robed army of mar-tyrs praises you.
Through-out the world the holy Church ac-claims you;
Fath-er, of majes-ty un-bound-ed,
your true and only Son, worthy of all wor-ship,
and the Ho-ly Spi-rit, advo-cate and guide.
Three in one, we praise you for ev-er.
You, Christ, are the king of glo-ry,
the e-ter-nal Son of/the Fath-er.
When you be-came man to set us free
you did not shun the Vir-gin's womb.
You over-came the sting of death
and o-pened the kingdom of heaven to all be-liev-ers.
You are seated at God's right hand in glo-ry.
We be-lieve that you will come and be our judge.
Come then, Lord, and help your peo-ple,
bought with/the price of your own blood,
and bring us with your saints
to glo-ry ever-last-ing.
A reading from John 16:23-30
On that day you will ask nothing of me. Very truly, I tell you, if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete. "I have said these things to you in figures of speech. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures, but will tell you plainly of the Father. On that day you will ask in my name. I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf;for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.
I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and am going to the Father. "His disciples said, "Yes, now you are speaking plainly, not in any figure of speech!Now we know that you know all things, and do not need to have anyone question you; by this we believe that you came from God. "
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
Saturday - First Song of Isaiah
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Surely, it/is God who saves me;
I/will trust in him and not be/a-fraid.
For/the Lord is my stronghold and my sure de-fense,
and he will be my Sav-ior.
Therefore you shall draw water with re-joic-ing
from/the springs of sal-va-tion.
And/on that day you shall say,
Give thanks to/the Lord and call up-on his Name;
Make his deeds known/a-mong the peo-ples;
see that they re-member that his Name is ex-alt-ed.
Sing the praises of/the Lord,
for he has done great things,
And this/is known in all the world.
Cry/a-loud, in-habit-ants of Zion, ring out your joy,
for/the great one in/the midst of you
is the Holy One of Is-ra-el.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
