Even Song - Monday - Saint John
Confession
Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done,
and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will,
and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your Name.
Amen
May Almighty God have mercy on us,
forgive us all our sins
through our Lord Jesus Christ,
strengthen us in all goodness,
and by the power of the Holy Spirit
keep us in eternal life.
Amen

Be-hold, I bring you good news of great joy,
which will come to all the peo-ple;
for unto you is born this day
in the city of Da-vid,
a Sav-ior, who is Christ the Lord.
Be-hold, the dwelling of God is with man-kind.
He will dwell with them,
and they shall be his peo-ple,
and God him-self will be with them,
and He will be their God.
Lord, o-pen our lips.
And our mouth shall pro-claim your praise.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
O Gracious Light
O gracious Light,
pure brightness of the
everliving Father in heaven.
O Jesus, Christ, holy and blessed!
Now as we come to the setting of the sun,
and our eyes behold the vesper light,
we sing your praises, O God:
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
you are worthy at all times
to be praised by happy voices,
O Son of God, O Giver of life,
and to be glorified through all the worlds.
Psalm 145

I will ex-tol you, my God, O king!
I will praise your name con-tinual-ly!
Eve-ry day I will praise you!
I will praise your name con-tinual-ly!
The Lord is great
and certain-ly worthy of praise!
No one can fathom his great-ness!
One gener-ation will praise your deeds to an-oth-er,
And tell a-bout your mighty acts!
I will focus on your honor and ma-jes-tic splen-dor,
and your a-mazing deeds!
They will pro-claim the power of your awe-some acts!
I will de-clare your great deeds!
They will talk/a-bout the fame of your great kind-ness,
and sing/a-bout your jus-tice.
The Lord is merci-ful and com-passion-ate;
He is pa-tient
and demon-strates great loyal love.
The Lord is good to all,
and has com-passion on all he has made.
All your works will give thanks to you, Lord.
Your loyal follow-ers will praise you.
They will pro-claim the splendor of your king-dom;
they will tell/a-bout your power,
So that man-kind might ac-knowledge your mighty acts,
and the ma-jes-tic splendor of your king-dom.
Your kingdom is an e-ternal king-dom,
and your do-minion en-dures through all gener-a-tions.
The Lord sup-ports all who fall,
and lifts up all who are bent o-ver.
Every-thing looks to you in an-tici-pa-tion,
and you pro-vide them with food on/a regu-lar ba-sis.
You o-pen your hand,
and fill every living thing with/the food they de-sire.
The Lord is just in all his ac-tions,
and ex-hibits love in all he does.
The Lord is near all who cry out to him,
all who cry out to him sin-cere-ly.
He satis-fies the de-sire of his loyal follow-ers;
he hears their cry for help and de-livers them.
The Lord pro-tects all those who love him,
but he de-stroys all the wick-ed.
My mouth will praise the Lord.
Let all who live praise his holy name for-ev-er!
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Readings
A reading from Isaiah 44:1-8
But now hear, O Jacob my servant, Israel whom I have chosen!Thus says the LORD who made you, who formed you in the womb and will help you: Do not fear, O Jacob my servant, Jeshurun whom I have chosen. For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my spirit upon your descendants, and my blessing on your offspring. They shall spring up like a green tamarisk, like willows by flowing streams. This one will say, "I am the Lord's, " another will be called by the name of Jacob, yet another will write on the hand, "The Lord's, " and adopt the name of Israel. Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god. Who is like me? Let them proclaim it, let them declare and set it forth before me. Who has announced from of old the things to come? Let them tell us what is yet to be. Do not fear, or be afraid; have I not told you from of old and declared it? You are my witnesses! Is there any god besides me? There is no other rock; I know not one.
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
Monday - Song of Praise
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Glory to you, Lord God of our fath-ers;
you are worthy of praise; glory to you.
Glory to you for/the radi-ance of your holy Name;
we will praise you and highly ex-alt you for ev-er.
Glory to you in/the splen-dor of your tem-ple;
on the throne of your maj-es-ty, glory to you.
Glory to you, seated be-tween the Cher-u-bim;
we will praise you and highly ex-alt you for ev-er.
Glory to you, be-hold-ing the depths;
in the high vault of heav-en, glory to you.
Glory to you, Fath-er, Son, and Ho-ly Spi-rit;
we will praise you and highly ex-alt you for ev-er.
A reading from 1 John 5:1-12
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the parent loves the child. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For the love of God is this, that we obey his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome, for whatever is born of God conquers the world. And this is the victory that conquers the world, our faith. Who is it that conquers the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
This is the one who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ, not with the water only but with the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one that testifies, for the Spirit is the truth. There are three that testify:the Spirit and the water and the blood, and these three agree. If we receive human testimony, the testimony of God is greater; for this is the testimony of God that he has testified to his Son.
Those who believe in the Son of God have the testimony in their hearts. Those who do not believe in God have made him a liar by not believing in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son. And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Lord, you now have set your servant free
to go/in peace as you have prom-ised;
For these eyes of mine have seen the Sav-ior,
whom you have pre-pared for all the world to see:
A Light to en-lighten the na-tions,
and the glory of your people Is-ra-el.
Lord, you now have set your servant free
to go/in peace as you have prom-ised;
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever. A-men.

Shed upon your Church, O Lord, the brightness of your light, that we, being illumined by the teaching of your apostle and evangelist John, may so walk in the light of your truth, that at length we may attain to the fullness of eternal life; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
A Collect for Peace
Most holy God, the source of all good desires, all right judgements, and all just works: Give to us, your servants, that peace which the world cannot give, so that our minds may be fixed on the doing of your will, and that we, being delivered from the fear of all enemies, may live in peace and quietness; through the mercies of Christ Jesus our Savior.
Amen.

as may be best for us;
granting us in this world knowledge of your truth,
