Grace/to you and peace/from God our Fa-ther
and from/the Lord Je-sus Christ.
Worship the Lord in/the beauty of his holi-ness;
let/the whole earth trem-ble/be-fore him.
Let/my prayer/be set forth/in your sight as in-cense,
the lifting up of/my hands as/the evening sacri-fice.
I/will bless the Lord who gives/me coun-sel;
my heart teaches me, night after night.
I/have set/the Lord always be-fore me;
be-cause he is/at my right hand, I shall not fall.
O God, make speed/to save us.
O Lord, make haste/to help us.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Monday - O Gracious Light
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
O gracious light, pure bright-ness
of the ever-living Father in heav-en,
O Je-sus Christ, holy and bless-ed!
we sing your praises, O God!
Now as/we come to/the setting of/the sun,
and our eyes be-hold/the vesper light,
we sing your praises, O God:
Father, Son, and Ho-ly Spi-rit.
You are worthy at all times
to be praised by happy voic-es,
O Son of God, O Giver of life,
and/to be glori-fied through all the worlds.
Psalms
Psalm 44
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
O God, we have clearly heard; our an-cestors have told us
what you did in their days, in ancient times.
You, by your power, de-feated na-tions
and settled our fathers on their land;
You crushed the people living there
and en-abled our an-cestors to occu-py it.
For they did not conquer the land by their swords,
and they did not pre-vail by their strength,
But rather by your power, strength and good fa-vor,
for you were partial to them.
You are my king, O God!
De-cree Ja-cob's de-liver-ance!
By your power we will drive back our ene-mies;
By your strength we will trample down our foes!
For I do/not trust in/my bow, and I do/not pre-vail by/my sword.
For you de-liver us from our ene-mies;
You hu-mili-ate those who hate us.
In God we boast all day long,
and we will con-tinual-ly give thanks to your name.
But you re-jected and em-barrassed us!
You did not go into battle with our ar-my.
You made us re-treat from/the ene-my.
Those/who hate us take what-ever they want from us.
You handed us over like sheep to be eat-en;
You scattered us a-mong the na-tions.
You sold your people for a pit-tance;
you did not ask a high price for them.
You made us an object of dis-dain to/our neigh-bors;
Those who live on our borders taunt and in-sult us.
You made us an object of ridi-cule a-mong the na-tions;
foreign-ers treat us with con-tempt.
All day long I feel hu-mili-at-ed
And am over-whelmed with shame,
be-fore the vin-dic-tive ene-my
who ridi-cules and in-sults me.
All this has happened to us,
Even though we have not re-jected you
Nor vio-lated your cov-e-nant with us.
We have not been un-faithful,
nor have we dis-o-beyed your com-mands.
Yet you have battered us, leaving us a heap of ruins
We are over-run by wild dogs;
you have covered us with dark-ness.
If we had re-jected our God,
And spread out our hands in prayer to/an-oth-er god,
would not God dis-cover it,
for he knows one's thoughts?
Yet be-cause/of you we/are killed all day long;
We are treated like sheep at/the slaughter-ing block.
Rouse your-self! Why do you sleep, O Lord?
Wake up! Do not re-ject us for-ev-er!
Why do you look the other way,
And ig-nore the way we/are op-pressed and mis-treat-ed?
For _ we lie in/the dirt,
with our bellies pressed to/the ground.
Res-cue us be-cause/of your loyal love!
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Readings
A reading from Revelation 3:7-13
"And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens:"I know your works. Look, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but are lyingI will make them come and bow down before your feet, and they will learn that I have loved you. Because you have kept my word of patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. I am coming soon; hold fast to what you have, so that no one may seize your crown. If you conquer, I will make you a pillar in the temple of my God; you will never go out of it. I will write on you the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem that comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name. Let anyone who has an ear listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches.
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
Monday - Song of the Redeemed
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
O ruler of/the uni-verse, Lord God,
great deeds are they that you have done,
sur-passing human under-stand-ing.
Your ways are ways of righteous-ness and truth,
O King of all the ag-es.
Who can fail to do you homage, Lord,
and sing the praises of your Name?
for you only are the Holy One.
All nations will draw near
and fall down be-fore you,
be-cause your just and holy works
have been re-vealed. Alle-lu-ia, a-men!
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
A reading from Matthew 24:15-31
“So when you see the abomination of desolation – spoken about by Daniel the prophet – standing in the holy place” (let the reader understand), “then those in Judea must flee to the mountains. The one on the roof must not come down to take anything out of his house, and the one in the field must not turn back to get his cloak. Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing their babies in those days! Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. For then there will be great suffering unlike anything that has happened from the beginning of the world until now, or ever will happen. And if those days had not been cut short, no one would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe him. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Remember, I have told you ahead of time. So then, if someone says to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out, or ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe him. For just like the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so the coming of the Son of Man will be. Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.
“Immediately after the suffering of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man arriving on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet blast, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
Monday - Song of Zechariah
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Isra-el;
he has come/to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty sav-ior,
born of/the house of his servant Da-vid.
Through his holy prophets he promised of old,
that he would save/us from our ene-mies,
from/the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fath-ers
and to re-member his holy cov-e-nant.
This was/the oath he swore to our father A-bra-ham,
to set us free from/the hands of our ene-mies,
Free to worship him without fear,
holy and righteous in his sight
all the days of our life.
And you, my child, shall be called
the proph-et of/the Most High,
for you will go/be-fore the Lord to/pre-pare his way,
To give his people knowledge of sal-va-tion
by the for-giveness of their sins.
In/the tender com-passion of our God
the dawn from/on high shall break up-on us,
To shine on those/who dwell in dark-ness
and in/the shadow of death,
and/to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

We/be-lieve in God, the Father al-might-y,
cre-ator of heaven and earth.
We/be-lieve in Je-sus Christ,
his on-ly son, our Lord.
He was/con-ceived by/the power of/the Ho-ly Spi-rit
and born of/the Vir-gin Mar-y.
He suffered under Pon-tius Pi-late,
was cruci-fied, died, and was bur-ied.
He de-scended to/the dead.
On/the third day he rose a-gain.
He a-scended into heav-en,
and is seated at/the right hand of/the Fath-er.
He will come a-gain
to judge the living and the dead.
We/be-lieve in/the Ho-ly Spi-rit,
the _ holy catho-lic Church,
the com-munion of saints,
the for-give-ness of sins,
the resur-rec-tion of/the bod-y,
and the life ever-lasting. A-men.

The Lord be with you.
And al-so with _ you.
Our Father in heav-en,
hal-low-ed be your Name.
Your king-dom come,
your will be done on earth
as/it is in heav-en.
Give us to-day our daily bread.
For-give us our sins
as we _ for-give those
who sin a-gainst us.
Save us from/the time of tri-al
De-liver us from e-vil.
For the king-dom, the power,
and the glory are yours,

That this evening may be holy, good, and peace-ful,
We en-treat you, O Lord.
That your holy angels may lead us in paths of peace and good-will,
We en-treat you, O Lord.
That we may be pardoned and for-given for our sins and of-fens-es,

That there may be peace to your Church and to/the whole world,
We en-treat you, O Lord.
That we may de-part this life in your faith and fear,
and be freed from condem-na-tion
be-fore the great judgment seat of Christ,
We en-treat you, O Lord.
That we may be bound to-gether by your Holy Spi-rit
in the com-munion of Barna-bas and all your saints,
en-trust-ing one/an-other and all our life to Christ,
We en-treat you, O Lord.
Collect of the Day
Almighty God, Lord of heaven and earth: We humbly pray that your gracious providence may give and preserve to our use the harvests of the land and of the seas, and may prosper all who labor to gather them, that we, who are constantly receiving good things from your hand, may always give you thanks; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
A Collect for Peace
Most holy God, the source of all good desires, all right judgements, and all just works: Give to us, your servants, that peace which the world cannot give, so that our minds may be fixed on the doing of your will, and that we, being delivered from the fear of all enemies, may live in peace and quietness; through the mercies of Christ Jesus our Savior.
Amen.
Prayer for Mission
O God and Father of all, whom the whole heavens adore: Let the whole earth also worship you, all nations obey you, all tongues confess and bless you, and men and women everywhere love you and serve you in peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
A Prayer of Saint Chrysostom

Al-might-y God,
you have given us grace at this time
with one ac-cord
to make our common suppli-cation to you;
and you have prom-ised
through your well be-loved Son
that when two/or three are gathered in his Name
you will be in/the midst of them:
Ful-fill now, O Lord, our de-sires and pe-ti-tions
as may be best for us;
granting us in this world knowledge of your truth,
and in/the age to come life ever-lasting. A-men.
