May God bless us!
May God, our God, bless us!
Then all/the ends of/the earth
will give him the honor he de-serves.
May God show/us his favor and bless us!
May he smile up-on us!
Then those living on earth will know what you are like;
all nations will know how you de-liver your peo-ple.
Let foreign-ers re-joice and cele-brate!
For you exe-cute justice a-mong the na-tions,
O God, make speed to save us.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Psalm 119:97-120

O how I love your law!
All day long I medi-tate on it.
Your com-mand-ments make me wis-er than my ene-mies,
for I am al-ways a-ware of them.
I have more in-sight than all my teach-ers,
for I medi-tate on your rules.
I am more dis-cerning than those older than I,
for I ob-serve your pre-cepts.
I stay a-way from eve-ry evil path,
so that I might keep your in-struc-tions.
I do not turn a-side
from your reg-u-la-tions,
for you are my teach-er.
Your words are sweeter in my mouth than hon-ey!
Your pre-cepts give me dis-cern-ment.
Therefore I hate all de-ceitful ac-tions.
Your word is a lamp to walk by,
and a light to il-lumine my path.
I have vowed and solemn-ly sworn
to keep your just reg-u-la-tions.
I am suffer-ing terri-bly.
O Lord, re-vive me with your word!
O Lord, please ac-cept the free-will offer-ings of my praise!
Teach me your reg-u-la-tions!
My life is in con-tin-ual dan-ger,
but I do not for-get your law.
The wicked lay a trap for me,
but I do/not wander from your pre-cepts.
I claim your rules as my perma-nent pos-ses-sion,
for they give me great joy.
I am de-ter-mined to o-bey your statutes at all times,
yes, _ even to/the very end.
I hate people with di-vided loyal-ty, but I love your law.
You are my hid-ing place and my shield.
I find hope in your word.
Turn a-way from me, you evil men,
so that I can ob-serve the com-mands of/my God.
Sus-tain me as you prom-ised, so that I will live.
Do not disap-point me!
Sup-port me, so that I will be de-livered.
Then I will fo-cus on your statutes con-tin-ual-ly.
You de-spise all who stray from your stat-utes,
for they are de-ceptive and un-re-lia-ble.
You re-move all the wicked of/the earth like slag.
There-fore I love your rules.
My body trem-bles be-cause I fear you;
I am a-fraid of your judg-ment.
Sup-port me, so that I will be de-livered.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Readings
A reading from Matthew 24:15-31
“So when you see the abomination of desolation – spoken about by Daniel the prophet – standing in the holy place” (let the reader understand), “then those in Judea must flee to the mountains. The one on the roof must not come down to take anything out of his house, and the one in the field must not turn back to get his cloak. Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing their babies in those days! Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. For then there will be great suffering unlike anything that has happened from the beginning of the world until now, or ever will happen. And if those days had not been cut short, no one would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe him. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Remember, I have told you ahead of time. So then, if someone says to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out, or ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe him. For just like the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so the coming of the Son of Man will be. Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.
“Immediately after the suffering of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man arriving on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet blast, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

The Lord be with you.
And al-so with _ you.
Our Father in heav-en,
hal-low-ed be your Name.
Your king-dom come,
your will be done on earth
as/it is in heav-en.
Give us to-day our daily bread.
For-give us our sins
as we _ for-give those
who sin a-gainst us.
Save us from/the time of tri-al
De-liver us from e-vil.
For the king-dom, the power,
and the glory are yours,
now and for-ever A-men.
Collect of the Day
Almighty Savior, who at noonday called your servant Saint Paul to be an apostle to the Gentiles: We pray you to illumine the world with the radiance of your glory, that all nations may come and worship you; for you live and reign for ever and ever.
Amen.
A Collect for Peace
O God, the King eternal, whose light divides the day from the night and turns the shadow of death into the morning: Drive far from us all wrong desires, incline our hearts to keep your law, and guide our feet into the way of peace; that, having done your will with cheerfulness while it was day, we may, when night comes, rejoice to give you thanks; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Prayer for Mission
O God, you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth, and sent your blessed Son to preach peace to those who are far off and to those who are near: Grant that people everywhere may seek after you and find you; bring the nations into your fold; pour out your Spirit upon all flesh; and hasten the coming of your kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
