Sunday - Compline Invitation

The Lord Al-might-y grant us a peaceful night
and a per-fect end. A-men.
Our help is in/the Name of/the Lord;
The mak-er of heaven and earth.

Al-might-y God, our heaven-ly Fath-er:
We have sinned a-gainst you,
through our own fault,
in thought, and word, and deed,

and in what we have left un-done.
For the sake of your Son
our Lord Je-sus Christ,
for-give us all our of-fens-es;

and grant that we may serve you
in _ new-ness of life,
to the glory of your Name. A-men.
May the Al-might-y God grant us

for-give-ness of all our sins,
and the grace and comfort of/the Ho-ly Spi-rit.
O God, make speed to save us.
O Lord, make haste to help us.

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

Psalm 13

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

How long, Lord, will you con-tin-ue to ig-nore me?
How long will you pay no at-ten-tion to me?
How long must I wor-ry,
and suffer in broad day-light?

How long will my ene-my gloat over me?
Look up-on me, O Lord!
An-swer me, O Lord my God!
Re-vive me, or else I will die!

Then my ene-my will say,
I _ have de-feated him!
Then my foes will re-joice
be-cause I am shak-en.

But I trust in your faithful-ness.
May I re-joice be-cause of your de-liver-ance!
I will sing praises to/the Lord
when he _ vindi-cates me.

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

Readings

A reading from Luke 16:1-13

Jesus also said to the disciples, “There was a rich man who was informed of accusations that his manager was wasting his assets. So he called the manager in and said to him, ‘What is this I hear about you? Turn in the account of your administration, because you can no longer be my manager.’ Then the manager said to himself, ‘What should I do, since my master is taking my position away from me? I’m not strong enough to dig, and I’m too ashamed to beg. I know what to do so that when I am put out of management, people will welcome me into their homes.’ So he contacted his master’s debtors one by one. He asked the first, ‘How much do you owe my master?’ The man replied, ‘100 measures of olive oil.’ The manager said to him, ‘Take your bill, sit down quickly, and write 50.’ Then he said to another, ‘And how much do you owe?’ The second man replied, ‘100 measures of wheat.’ The manager said to him, ‘Take your bill, and write 80.’ The master commended the dishonest manager because he acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their contemporaries than the people of light. And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by how you use worldly wealth, so that when it runs out, you will be welcomed into the eternal homes.

“The one who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and the one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. If then you haven’t been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will entrust you with the true riches? And if you haven’t been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you your own? No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”

Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Sunday - Our Father

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

The Lord be with you.
And al-so with _ you.
Our Fath-er in heav-en,
hal-low-ed be your Name.

Your king-dom come,
your will be done on earth
as it is in heav-en.
Give us to-day our dai-ly bread.

For-give us our sins
as we _ for-give those
who sin a-gainst us.
Save us from/the time of tri-al,

De-liver us from e-vil.
For the king-dom, the pow-er,
and the glory are yours,
now and for-ever A-men.

Collect of the Day

Look down, O Lord, from your heavenly throne, and illumine this night with your celestial brightness; that by night as by day your people may glorify your holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

A Collect for Sundays

Lord God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ triumphed over the powers of death and prepared for us our place in the new Jerusalem: Grant that we, who have this day given thanks for his resurrection, may praise you in that City of which he is the light, and where he lives and reigns for ever and ever.

Amen.

Prayer for Mission

O God and Father of all, whom the whole heavens adore: Let the whole earth also worship you, all nations obey you, all tongues confess and bless you, and men and women everywhere love you and serve you in peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Into your hands, O Lord, I com-mend my spi-rit;
For you have re-deemed me, O Lord, O God of truth.
Keep us, O Lord, as the apple of your eye;
Hide us under the shadow of your wings.

Lord, have mer-cy up-on us.
Christ, have mer-cy up-on us.
Lord, hear our prayer;
And let our cry come to you.

Guide us as we wake, O Lord,
and guard us as we sleep;
that a-wake we may watch with Christ,
and a-sleep we may rest in peace.

Lord, you now have set your serv-ant free
to go in peace as you have prom-ised;
For these eyes of mine have seen the Sav-ior,
whom you have pre-pared for all the world to see:

A Light to en-lighten the na-tions,
and the glory of your people Is-ra-el.
The al-mighty and merci-ful Lord,
Fath-er, Son, and Ho-ly Spi-rit, bless and keep us.

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

Guide us as we wake, O Lord,
and guard us as we sleep;
that a-wake we may watch with Christ,
and a-sleep we may rest in peace.
