Grace to you and peace from God our Fa-ther
and from/the Lord Je-sus Christ.
Wor-ship the Lord in/the beau-ty of his holi-ness;
let the whole earth trem-ble be-fore him.
Let my prayer be set forth in your sight as in-cense,
the lifting up of my hands as the eve-ning sacri-fice.
I will bless the Lord who gives me coun-sel;
my heart teaches me, night after night.
I have set the Lord al-ways be-fore me;
be-cause he is at my right hand, I shall not fall.
O God, make speed to save us.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Wednesday - O Gracious Light
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
O gra-cious light, pure bright-ness
of the ever-liv-ing Fath-er in heav-en,
O Je-sus Christ, holy and bless-ed!
we sing your prais-es, O God!
Now as we come to/the setting of/the sun,
and our eyes be-hold the ves-per light,
we sing your prais-es, O God:
Fath-er, Son, and Ho-ly Spi-rit.
You are worthy at all times
to be praised by happy voic-es,
O Son of God, O Giver of life,
and to be glori-fied through all the worlds.
Psalms
Psalm 34
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
I will praise the Lord at all times;
my mouth will con-tin-ual-ly praise him.
I will boast in/the Lord;
let the op-pressed hear and re-joice!
Mag-ni-fy the Lord with me!
Let's praise his name to-geth-er!
I sought the Lord's help
and he has an-swered me;
He de-livered me from all my fear.
Look to him and be ra-di-ant;
do not let your faces be a-shamed.
This op-pressed man cried out and the Lord heard;
He saved him from all his trou-ble.
The Lord's an-gel camps a-round the Lord's loyal follow-ers
and de-livers them.
Taste and see that the Lord is good!
How blessed is the one who takes shelter in him!
Fear the Lord, you chosen people of his,
For those who fear him lack noth-ing!
E-ven young lions some-times lack food and are hun-gry.
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
Come children! List-en to me!
I will teach you what it means to fear the Lord.
Do you want to really live?
Would you love to live a long, happy life?
Then make sure you don’t speak evil words or use de-cep-tive speech!
Turn a-way from evil and do what is right!
Strive for peace and pro-mote it!
The Lord pays at-ten-tion to/the god-ly
and hears their cry for help.
But the Lord op-poses evil-do-ers
and wipes out all memo-ry of them from/the earth.
The god-ly cry out and the Lord hears;
he saves them from all their trou-ble.
The Lord is near the broken heart-ed;
he de-livers those who are dis-cour-aged.
The god-ly face many dan-gers,
but the Lord saves them from each one of them.
He pro-tects all his bones;
not one of them is bro-ken.
E-vil people self-de-struct;
those who hate the god-ly are pun-ished.
The Lord res-cues his serv-ants;
all who take shelter in him es-cape punish-ment.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for ever A-men.
Psalm 104
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Praise the Lord, O my soul!
O Lord my God, you are mag-nifi-cent.
You are robed in splen-dor and maj-es-ty.
He covers him-self with light as if/it were a gar-ment.
He stretches out the skies like a tent cur-tain
and lays the beams of/the upper rooms
of his pal-ace on/the rain clouds.
He makes the clouds his chari-ot
and travels on/the wings of/the wind.
He makes the winds his messen-gers
and the flaming fire his at-tend-ant.
He es-tab-lished the earth on its foun-da-tion;
it will never be moved.
The water-y deep covered it like a gar-ment;
the waters reached a-bove the moun-tains.
Your shout made the waters re-treat;
at the sound of your thunder-ous voice they hurried off
as the mountains rose up and/the valleys went down
to/the place you ap-pointed for them.
You set up a bound-ary for them
A limit that they could not cross,
so that they would not cover the earth a-gain.
He turns springs into streams;
they flow be-tween the moun-tains.
They pro-vide water for all the ani-mals in/the field;
the wild don-keys quench their thirst.
The birds of/the sky live be-side them;
they chirp a-mong the bush-es.
He waters the mountains from/the upper rooms of his pal-ace;
the earth is full of/the fruit you cause to grow.
He pro-vides grass for/the cat-tle
and crops for people to culti-vate,
so they can pro-duce food from/the ground
as well as wine that makes people glad,
and olive oil to make their faces shine
as well as bread that sus-tains them.
The trees of/the Lord re-ceive all the rain they need,
the ce-dars of Leba-non that he plant-ed,
where the birds make nests near the ever-greens
in which the her-ons live.
The wild goats live in/the high moun-tains;
the rock badgers find safe-ty in/the cliffs.
He made the moon to mark the month,
and the sun sets ac-cord-ing to a regu-lar sched-ule.
You make it dark and night comes,
dur-ing which all the beasts of/the for-est prowl a-round.
The lions roar for prey, seeking their food from God.
At sun-rise, they with-draw and sleep in their dens.
Peo-ple then go out to/do their work,
and they labor un-til eve-ning.
How many living things you have made, O Lord!
You have ex-hibit-ed great skill in making all of them;
the earth is full of/the living things you have made.
O-ver here is the deep, wide sea,
which teems with in-numer-able swimming crea-tures,
liv-ing things both small and large.
The ships trav-el there,
and over here swims the whale you made to play in it.
All your creatures wait for you to pro-vide them
with food on a regu-lar ba-sis.
You give food to them and they re-ceive it;
you o-pen your hand and they are filled with food.
When you ig-nore them, they pan-ic.
When you take/a-way their lifes breath, they die and re-turn to dust.
When you send your life-giving breath, they are cre-at-ed,
and you re-plenish the surface of/the ground.
May the splen-dor of/the Lord en-dure.
May the Lord find pleasure in/the living things he has made.
He looks down on/the earth and it shakes;
he touches the mountains and they start to smol-der.
I will sing to/the Lord as long/as I live;
I will sing praise to my God as long/as I ex-ist.
May my thoughts be pleasing to him.
I will re-joice in/the Lord.
May sinners disap-pear from/the earth,
and may the wicked van-ish.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Readings
A reading from Daniel 12:1-3
“At that time Michael,
the great prince who watches over your people,
will arise.
There will be a time of distress
unlike any other from the nation’s beginning
up to that time.
But at that time your own people,
all those whose names are found written in the book,
will escape.
Many of those who sleep
in the dusty ground will awake—
some to everlasting life,
and others to shame and everlasting abhorrence.
But the wise will shine
like the brightness of the heavenly expanse.
And those bringing many to righteousness
will be like the stars forever and ever.
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
Wednesday - Song of the Redeemed
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
O rul-er of/the uni-verse, Lord God,
great deeds are they that you have done,
sur-pas-sing human under-stand-ing.
Your ways are ways of righteous-ness and truth,
O King of all the ag-es.
Who can fail to do you hom-age, Lord,
and sing the praises of your Name?
for you only are the Ho-ly One.
All na-tions will draw near
and fall down be-fore you,
be-cause your just and holy works
have been re-vealed. Alle-lu-ia, a-men!
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
A reading from Mark 13:21-27
Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe him. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, the elect. Be careful! I have told you everything ahead of time.
“But in those days, after that suffering, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light; the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. Then everyone will see the Son of Man arriving in the clouds with great power and glory. Then he will send angels and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
Wednesday - Song of Zechariah
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Bless-ed be the Lord, the God of Is-ra-el;
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty sav-ior,
born of/the house of his servant Da-vid.
Through his holy proph-ets he prom-ised of old,
that he would save us from our ene-mies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He prom-ised to show mer-cy to our fath-ers
and to re-member his holy cov-e-nant.
This was the oath he swore to our fath-er A-bra-ham,
to set us free from/the hands of our ene-mies,
Free to wor-ship him without fear,
ho-ly and righteous in his sight
all the days of our life.
And you, my child, shall be called
the proph-et of/the Most High,
for you will go be-fore the Lord to pre-pare his way,
To give his people knowledge of sal-va-tion
by the for-give-ness of their sins.
In/the tender com-pas-sion of our God
the dawn from on high shall break up-on us,
To shine on those who dwell in dark-ness
and in/the shadow of death,
and to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

We be-lieve in God, the Fath-er al-might-y,
cre-a-tor of heaven and earth.
We be-lieve in Je-sus Christ,
his on-ly son, our Lord.
He was con-ceived by/the power of/the Ho-ly Spi-rit
and born of/the Vir-gin Mar-y.
He suffered under Pon-tius Pi-late,
was cruci-fied, died, and was bur-ied.
He de-scended to/the dead.
On the third day he rose a-gain.
He a-scended into heav-en,
and is seated at/the right hand of/the Fath-er.
He will come a-gain
to judge the living and the dead.
We be-lieve in/the Ho-ly Spi-rit,
the _ holy catho-lic Church,
the com-mun-ion of saints,

And al-so with _ you.
Our Fath-er in heav-en,

as it is in heav-en.
Give us to-day our dai-ly bread.

O God, the King of glory, you have exalted your only Son Jesus Christ with great triumph to your kingdom in heaven: Do not leave us comfortless, but send us your Holy Spirit to strengthen us, and exalt us to that place where our Savior Christ has gone before; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting.
Amen.
A Collect for Protection
O God, the life of all who live, the light of the faithful, the strength of those who labor, and the repose of the dead: We thank you for the blessings of the day that is past, and humbly ask for your protection through the coming night. Al-might-y God,
you have given us grace at this time
with one ac-cord
to make our common sup-pli-ca-tion to you;

through your well-be-loved Son
that when two or three are gathered in his Name
you will be in/the midst of them:

as may be best for us;
granting us in this world knowl-edge of your truth,
