May God bless us!
May God, our God, bless us!
Then all the ends of/the earth
will give him the honor he de-serves.

May God show us his favor and bless us!
May he smile up-on us!
Then those living on earth will know what you are like;
all na-tions will know how you de-liver your peo-ple.

Let foreign-ers re-joice and cel-e-brate!
For you exe-cute jus-tice a-mong the na-tions,
O God, make speed to save us.
O Lord, make haste to help us.

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

Psalm 119:145-176

I cried out with all my heart,
Hear and an-swer me, O Lord!
I will ob-serve your stat-utes.
I have cried out to you;

Please de-liver me,
so that I can keep your rules.
I am up be-fore dawn crying for help.
I find hope in your word.

My eyes an-tici-pate the night-time hours,
so that I can medi-tate on your word.
List-en to me be-cause of your loyal love!
O Lord, re-vive me, as you typi-cal-ly do!

Those who are ea-ger to/do wrong draw near;
they are far from your law.
You are near, O Lord,
and all your com-mands are re-lia-ble.

I learned long a-go
that you or-dained your rules to last.
See my pain and res-cue me!
For I do not for-get your law.

Fight for me and de-fend me!
Re-vive me with your word!
The wicked have no chance for de-liver-ance,
for they do not seek your stat-utes.

Your com-passion is great, O Lord.
Re-vive me, as you typi-cal-ly do!
The ene-mies who chase me are numer-ous.
Yet I do not turn a-side from your rules.

I take note of/the treacher-ous and de-spise them,
be-cause they do not keep your in-struc-tions.
See how I love your pre-cepts!
O Lord, re-vive me with your loyal love!

Your in-struc-tions are total-ly re-lia-ble;
all your just regu-la-tions en-dure.
Rul-ers pur-sue me for no rea-son,
yet I am more a-fraid of dis-o-beying your in-struc-tions.

I re-joice in your in-struc-tions,
like one who finds much plun-der.
I love your law;
I hate and de-spise de-ceit;

Seven times a day I praise you
be-cause of your just regu-la-tions.
Those who love your law are com-plete-ly se-cure;
no-thing causes them to stum-ble.

I hope for your de-liver-ance,
O Lord, I o-bey your com-mands.
I keep your rules;
I love them all great-ly.

I keep your pre-cepts and rules,
for you are a-ware of every-thing I do.
List-en to my cry for help, O Lord!
Give me in-sight by your word!

List-en to my ap-peal for mer-cy!
De-liver me, as you prom-ised.
May praise flow freely from my lips,
for you teach me your stat-utes.

May my tongue sing a-bout your in-struc-tions,
for all your com-mands are just.
May your hand help me,
for I choose to o-bey your pre-cepts.

I long for your de-liver-ance, O Lord;
I find de-light in your law.
May I live and praise you!
May your regu-la-tions help me!

I have wandered off like a lost sheep.
Come looking for your serv-ant,
for I do not for-get your com-mands.
Your com-passion is great, O Lord.

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

Readings

A reading from Matthew 6:7-15

When you pray, do not babble repetitiously like the Gentiles because they think that by their many words they will be heard. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. So pray this way:
“Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored,

may your kingdom come,
may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread,

and forgive us our debts, as we ourselves have forgiven our debtors.

And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

“For if you forgive others their sins, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive you your sins.

Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Friday - Our Father

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

The Lord be with you.
And al-so with _ you.
Our Fath-er in heav-en,
hal-low-ed be your Name.

Your king-dom come,
your will be done on earth
as it is in heav-en.
Give us to-day our dai-ly bread.

For-give us our sins
as we _ for-give those
who sin a-gainst us.
Save us from/the time of tri-al,

De-liver us from e-vil.
For the king-dom, the pow-er,
and the glory are yours,
now and for-ever A-men.

Collect of the Day

Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles, "Peace I give to you; my peace I leave with you:" Regard not our sins, but the faith of your Church, and give to us the peace and unity of that heavenly city, where with the Father and the Holy Spirit you live and reign, now and for ever.

Amen.

A Collect for Fridays

Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Prayer for Mission

Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name.

Amen.

Glory to God whose power, working in us,

and in Christ Je-sus for-ever and ever A-men.
Let us bless the Lord. Alle-lu-ia, Alle-lu-ia!
