Yes, I find de-light in your rules;
for they give me guid-ance.
I col-lapse in/the dirt.

Teach me your stat-utes!
Help me to under-stand what your pre-cepts mean!

Then I can medi-tate on your marvel-ous teach-ing.

Gra-cious-ly give me your law!

May I ex-peri-ence your loyal love, O Lord,

Then I will have a re-ply for/the one who in-sults me,
for I trust in your word.

Do not com-pletely de-prive me of a truth-ful testi-mo-ny,
for I a-wait your jus-tice.
Then I will keep your law con-tin-ual-ly
now and for all time to come.

I will be se-cure,
for I seek your pre-cepst, O Lord.
I will speak/a-bout your regu-la-tions be-fore kings
and I will not be a-shamed.

I will find de-light in your com-mands.
I will lift my hands to your com-mands,
and I will medi-tate on your stat-utes.
I love all your com-mands and stat-utes.

Readings

A reading from Mark 12:28-34

Now one of the experts in the law came and heard them debating. When he saw that Jesus answered them well, he asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is: ‘Listen, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” The expert in the law said to him, “That is true, Teacher; you are right to say that he is one, and there is no one else besides him. And to love him with all your heart, with all your mind, and with all your strength and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.” When Jesus saw that he had answered thoughtfully, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” Then no one dared any longer to question him.

Collect of the Day

Almighty Savior, who at noonday called your servant Saint Paul to be an apostle to the Gentiles: We pray you to illumine the world with the radiance of your glory, that all nations may come and worship you; for you live and reign for ever and ever.

Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Prayer for Mission

O God, you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth, and sent your blessed Son to preach peace to those who are far off and to those who are near: Grant that people everywhere may seek after you and find you; bring the nations into your fold; pour out your Spirit upon all flesh; and hasten the coming of your kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
