The Lord Al-might-y grant us a peaceful night
and a per-fect end. A-men.
Our help is in/the Name of/the Lord;
The mak-er of heaven and earth.
Al-might-y God, our heaven-ly Fath-er:
We have sinned a-gainst you,
through our own fault,
in thought, and word, and deed,
and in what we have left un-done.
For the sake of your Son
our Lord Je-sus Christ,
for-give us all our of-fens-es;
and grant that we may serve you
in _ new-ness of life,
to the glory of your Name. A-men.
May the Al-might-y God grant us
for-give-ness of all our sins,
and the grace and comfort of/the Ho-ly Spi-rit.
O God, make speed to save us.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Psalm 143

O Lord, hear my prayer!
Pay at-ten-tion to my plea for help!
Be-cause of your faithful-ness and jus-tice, an-swer me!
Do not sit in judg-ment on your serv-ant,
for no one a-live is in-no-cent be-fore you.
Cer-tain-ly my ene-mies chase me.
They smash me into the ground.
They force me to live in dark re-gions,
like those who have been dead for ag-es.
My strength de-parts from me;
I am ab-so-lute-ly shocked.
I re-call the old days;
I medi-tate on all you have done;
I re-flect on your ac-com-plish-ments.
I spread my hands out to you in prayer;
my soul thirsts for you in a parched land.
An-swer me quick-ly, Lord!
My strength is fad-ing a-way.
Do not re-ject me,
or I will join those de-scend-ing into the grave.
May I hear a-bout your loyal love in/the morn-ing,
for I trust in you, my Lord.
Show me the way I should go,
be-cause I long for you.
Res-cue me from my ene-mies, O Lord!
I run to you for pro-tec-tion.
Teach me to do what pleas-es you,
for you, O Lord, are my God.
May your kind pres-ence lead me into a lev-el land.
O Lord, for/the sake of your repu-ta-tion, re-vive me!
Be-cause of your jus-tice,
res-cue me from all my trou-ble!
As a dem-on-stra-tion of your loyal love,
de-stroy _ my ene-mies!
An-ni-hi-late all who threat-en my life,
for I am your serv-ant.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Readings
A reading from Matthew 13:53-58
Now when Jesus finished these parables, he moved on from there. Then he came to his hometown and began to teach the people in their synagogue. They were astonished and said, “Where did this man get such wisdom and miraculous powers? Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother named Mary? And aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas? And aren’t all his sisters here with us? So where did he get all this?” And so they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own house. ” And he did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

The Lord be with you.
And al-so with _ you.
Our Fath-er in heav-en,
hal-low-ed be your Name.
Your king-dom come,
your will be done on earth
as it is in heav-en.
Give us to-day our dai-ly bread.
For-give us our sins
as we _ for-give those
who sin a-gainst us.
Save us from/the time of tri-al,
De-liver us from e-vil.
For the king-dom, the pow-er,
and the glory are yours,
now and for-ever A-men.
Collect of the Day
O God, your unfailing providence sustains the world we live in and the life we live: Watch over those, both night and day, who work while others sleep, and grant that we may never forget that our common life depends upon each other's toil; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
A Collect for Protection
O God, the life of all who live, the light of the faithful, the strength of those who labor, and the repose of the dead: We thank you for the blessings of the day that is past, and humbly ask for your protection through the coming night. Bring us in safety to the morning hours; through him who died and rose again for us, your Son our Savior Jesus Christ.
Amen.
Prayer for Mission
O God and Father of all, whom the whole heavens adore: Let the whole earth also worship you, all nations obey you, all tongues confess and bless you, and men and women everywhere love you and serve you in peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Into your hands, O Lord, I com-mend my spi-rit;
For you have re-deemed me, O Lord, O God of truth.
Keep us, O Lord, as the apple of your eye;
Hide us under the shadow of your wings.
Lord, have mer-cy up-on us.
Christ, have mer-cy up-on us.
Lord, hear our prayer;
And let our cry come to you.
Guide us as we wake, O Lord,
and guard us as we sleep;
that a-wake we may watch with Christ,
and a-sleep we may rest in peace.
Lord, you now have set your serv-ant free
to go in peace as you have prom-ised;
For these eyes of mine have seen the Sav-ior,
whom you have pre-pared for all the world to see:
A Light to en-lighten the na-tions,
and the glory of your people Is-ra-el.
The al-mighty and merci-ful Lord,
Fath-er, Son, and Ho-ly Spi-rit, bless and keep us.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Guide us as we wake, O Lord,
and guard us as we sleep;
that a-wake we may watch with Christ,
and a-sleep we may rest in peace.
