The Lord is in his holy tem-ple;
let all the earth keep silence be-fore him
I was glad when they said to me,
Let us go to/the house of/the Lord.
Let the words of my mouth
and the medi-ta-tion of my heart
be ac-cepta-ble in your sight, O Lord,
my strength and my re-deem-er.
Thus says the high and lofty One
who in-habits e-terni-ty,
whose name is Ho-ly,
I dwell in/the high and holy place
Send out your light
and your truth, that they may lead me,
and bring me to your holy hill
and to your dwel-ling place.
Give thanks to/the Lord, and call on his Name;
make known his deeds a-mong the peo-ples.
Lord, o-pen our lips.
And our mouth shall pro-claim your praise.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for ever A-men.
Wednesday - Jubilate
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Be joy-ful in/the Lord, all you lands;
serve the Lord with glad-ness
and come be-fore his presence with a song.
Know this: The Lord him-self is God;
He him-self has made us, and we are his;
we are his people and the sheep of his pas-ture.
Enter his gates with thanks-giv-ing;
go into his courts with praise;
Give thanks to him and call on his Name.
Be-cause the Lord is good;
his mercy is ever last-ing;
and his faithful-ness en-dures from age to age.
Psalms
Psalm 101
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
I will sing a-bout loyal-ty and jus-tice!
To you, O Lord, I will sing prais-es!
I will walk in/the way of in-tegri-ty.
When will you come to me?
I will con-duct my busii-ness with in-tegri-ty
in the midst of my pal-ace.
I will not even con-sider doing what is dis-hon-est.
I hate doing e-vil; I will have no part of it.
I will have nothing to do with a per-verse per-son;
I will not per-mit e-vil.
I will de-stroy any-one who slanders his neigh-bor in se-cret.
I will not toler-ate any-one who has a haughty de-mean-or
I will not toler-ate an arro-gant at-ti-tude.
I will favor the hon-est people of/the land,
and al-low them to live with me.
Those who walk in/the way of in-tegri-ty will at-tend me.
De-ceitful people will not live in my pal-ace.
Liars will not be welcome in my pres-ence.
Each morning I will de-stroy all/the wicked people in/the land,
and re-move all evil-do-ers from/the ci-ty of/the Lord.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Psalm 109
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
O God whom I praise, do not ig-nore me!
For they say cruel and de-cep-tive things to me; they lie to me.
They sur-round me and say hate-ful things;
they at-tack me for no rea-son.
They re-pay my love with ac-cu-sa-tion, but I con-tinue to pray.
They re-pay me evil for good, and hate for love.
Ap-point an evil man to testi-fy a-gainst him!
May an ac-cuser stand at his right side!
When he is judged, he will be found guilt-y!
Then his prayer will be re-garded as sin-ful.
May his days be few!
May an-other take his job!
May his children be father-less, and his wife a wid-ow!
May his children roam a-round beg-ging,
ask-ing for hand-outs as they leave their ruined home!
May the credi-tor seize all he owns!
May stran-gers loot his proper-ty!
May no one show him kind-ness!
May no one have com-passion on his father-less chil-dren!
May his de-scen-dants be cut off!
May the memo-ry of them be wiped out
by the time the next gener-a-tion ar-rives!
May his an-ces-tors sins be re-membered by/the Lord!
May his mother's sin not be for-got-ten!
May the Lord be constant-ly a-ware of them,
and cut off the memo-ry of his children from/the earth!
For he never bo-thered to show kind-ness;
he har-assed the op-pressed and need-y,
and killed the dis-heart-ened.
He loved to curse oth-ers,
so those curses have come up-on him.
He had no de-sire to bless any-one,
so he has ex-peri-enced no bles-sing.
He made cursing a way of life,
so curses poured into his stomach like wa-ter
Curses seeped into his bones like oil.
May a curse at-tach it-self to him,
like a garment one puts on, or a belt one wears con-tin-ual-ly!
May the Lord re-pay my ac-cusers in this way,
those who say evil things a-bout me!
O sove-reign Lord, inter-vene on my be-half
for the sake of your repu-ta-tion!
Be-cause your loyal love is good, de-liver me!
For I am op-pressed and need-y,
and my heart beats vio-lent-ly with-in me.
I am fading a-way like a shad-ow at/the end of/the day;
I am shaken off like/a lo-cust.
I am so starved my knees shake;
I have turned into skin and bones.
I am dis-dained by them.
When they see me, they shake their heads.
Help me, O Lord my God!
Be-cause you are faithful to me, de-liver me!
Then they will real-ize this is your work,
and that you, Lord, have ac-com-plished it.
They curse, but you will bless.
When they at-tack, they will be hu-mili-at-ed,
but your serv-ant will re-joice.
My ac-cusers will be covered with shame,
and draped in hu-mili-a-tion as if/it were a robe.
I will thank the Lord pro-fuse-ly,
in the middle of a crowd I will praise him,
be-cause he stands at/the right hand of/the need-y,
to de-liver him from those who threaten his life.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Readings
A reading from 1 Maccabees 3:42-60
Now Judas and his brothers saw that misfortunes had increased and that the forces were encamped in their territory.They also learned what the king had commanded to do to the people to cause their final destruction.But they said to one another, Let us restore the ruins of our people, and fight for our people and the sanctuary.So the congregation assembled to be ready for battle, and to pray and ask for mercy and compassion.
Jerusalem was uninhabited like a wilderness;not one of her children went in or out.The sanctuary was trampled down,and aliens held the citadel;it was a lodging place for the Gentiles.Joy was taken from Jacob;the flute and the harp ceased to play.
Then they gathered together and went to Mizpah, opposite Jerusalem, because Israel formerly had a place of prayer in Mizpah.They fasted that day, put on sackcloth and sprinkled ashes on their heads, and tore their clothes.And they opened the book of the law to inquire into those matters about which the Gentiles consulted the likenesses of their gods.They also brought the vestments of the priesthood and the first fruits and the tithes, and they stirred up the nazirites who had completed their days;and they cried aloud to Heaven, saying,
What shall we do with these?Where shall we take them?Your sanctuary is trampled down and profaned,and your priests mourn in humiliation.Here the Gentiles are assembled against us to destroy us;you know what they plot against us.How will we be able to withstand them,if you do not help us?
Then they sounded the trumpets and gave a loud shout.After this Judas appointed leaders of the people, in charge of thousands and hundreds and fifties and tens.Those who were building houses, or were about to be married, or were planting a vineyard, or were fainthearted, he told to go home again, according to the law.Then the army marched out and encamped to the south of Emmaus.
And Judas said, Arm yourselves and be courageous.Be ready early in the morning to fight with these Gentiles who have assembled against us to destroy us and our sanctuary.It is better for us to die in battle than to see the misfortunes of our nation and of the sanctuary.But as his will in heaven may be, so shall he do.
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
Wednesday - Song of Praise
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Glory to you, Lord God of our fath-ers;
you are worthy of praise; glory to you.
Glory to you for/the radi-ance of your holy Name;
we will praise you and highly ex-alt you for ev-er.
Glory to you in/the splen-dor of your tem-ple;
on the throne of your maj-es-ty, glory to you.
Glory to you, seated be-tween the Cher-u-bim;
we will praise you and highly ex-alt you for ev-er.
Glory to you, be-hold-ing the depths;
in the high vault of heav-en, glory to you.
Glory to you, Fath-er, Son, and Ho-ly Spi-rit;
we will praise you and highly ex-alt you for ev-er.
A reading from Matthew 17:22-27
When they gathered together in Galilee, Jesus told them, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men. They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised. ” And they became greatly distressed.
After they arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the temple tax came to Peter and said, “Your teacher pays the double drachma tax, doesn’t he?”He said, “Yes. ” When Peter came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do earthly kings collect tolls or taxes – from their sons or from foreigners?” After he said, “From foreigners,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free. But so that we don’t offend them, go to the lake and throw out a hook. Take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth, you will find a four drachma coin. Take that and give it to them for me and you. ”
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Lord, you now have set your ser-vant free
to go in peace as you have prom-ised;
For these eyes of mine have seen the Sav-ior,
whom you have pre-pared for all the world to see:
A Light to en-light-en the na-tions,
and the glory of your people Is-ra-el.
Lord, you now have set your ser-vant free
to go in peace as you have prom-ised;
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever. A-men.

Show us your mer-cy, O Lord;
And grant us your sal-va-tion.
Clothe your minis-ters with righteous-ness;
Let your people sing with joy.
Give peace, O Lord, in all the world;
For only in you can we live in safe-ty.
Lord, keep this na-tion under your care;
And guide us in/the way of justice and truth.
Let your way be known up-on earth;
Your sav-ing health a-mong all na-tions.
Let not the need-y, O Lord, be for-got-ten;
Nor the hope of/the poor be taken a-way.
Cre-ate in us clean hearts, O God;
And sus-tain us with your Ho-ly Spi-rit.
Show us your mer-cy, O Lord;
And grant us your sal-va-tion.

Almighty God, the giver of all good gifts, in your divine providence you have appointed various orders in your Church: Give your grace, we humbly pray, to all who are [now] called to any office and ministry for your people; and so fill them with the truth of your doctrine and clothe them with holiness of life, that they may faithfully serve before you, to the glory of your great Name and for the benefit of your holy Church; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
