Sunday - Epiphany Invitation

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Na-tions shall come to your light,
and kings to/the brightness of your ris-ing.
I will give you as/a light to/the na-tions,
that my sal-vation may reach to/the end of/the earth.

From the rising of/the sun to its set-ting
my Name shall be great a-mong the na-tions,
and in every place
in-cense shall be offered to my Name,

and a pure offer-ing: for my Name shall be great
a-mong the na-tions, says the Lord of Hosts.
Lord, o-pen our lips.
And our mouth shall pro-claim your praise.

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

Sunday - Jubilate

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Be joy-ful in/the Lord, all you lands;
serve the Lord with glad-ness
and come be-fore his presence with a song.
Know this: The Lord him-self is God;

He him-self has made us, and we are his;
we are his people and the sheep of his pas-ture.
Enter his gates with thanks-giv-ing;
go into his courts with praise;

Give thanks to him and call on his Name.
Be-cause the Lord is good;
his mercy is ever last-ing;
and his faithful-ness en-dures from age to age.

Psalms

Psalm 148

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from/the sky!
Praise _ him in/the heav-ens!
Praise him, all his an-gels!
Praise him, all his heaven-ly as-sem-bly!

Praise him, O sun and moon!
Praise him, all you shin-y stars!
Praise him, O highest heav-en,
and you waters a-bove the sky!

Let them praise the name of/the Lord,
for he gave the com-mand
and they came into ex-ist-ence.
He es-tab-lished them so they would en-dure;

he issued a de-cree
that will not be re-voked.
Praise the Lord from/the earth,
you sea creatures and all you ocean depths,

O fire and hail, snow and clouds,
O stormy wind that carries out his or-ders,
you mountains and all you hills,
you fruit trees and all you ce-dars,

you ani-mals and all you cat-tle,
you _ creeping things and birds,
you kings of/the earth and all you na-tions,
you princes and all you leaders on/the earth,

you young women and young men,
you elder-ly, a-long with you chil-dren!
Let them praise the name of/the Lord,
for his name a-lone is ex-alt-ed;

his maj-es-ty ex-tends over the earth and sky.
He has made his people vic-to-ri-ous,
and given all his loyal follow-ers reason to praise the Isra-elites,
the people who are close to him. Praise the Lord!

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

Psalm 149

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Praise the Lord! Sing to/the Lord a new song!
Praise him in/the as-sem-bly of/the god-ly!
Let Is-ra-el re-joice in their Cre-a-tor!
Let the people of Zi-on de-light in their King!

Let them praise his name with danc-ing!
Let them sing praises to him
to the ac-com-pani-ment of/the tam-bourine and harp!
For the Lord takes de-light in his peo-ple;

he ex-alts the op-pressed
by de-liv-er-ing them.
Let the god-ly re-joice
be-cause of their vindi-ca-tion!

Let them shout for joy up-on their beds!
May the praises of God be in their mouths
and a two-edged sword in their hands,
in order to take re-venge on/the na-tions

and punish foreign-ers.
They bind their kings in chains
and their nobles in iron shack-les,
and exe-cute the judg-ments

to which their ene-mies have been sen-tenced.
All _ his loyal follow-ers
will be vindi-cat-ed.
Praise the Lord! Sing to/the Lord a new song!

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.

Readings

A reading from Deuteronomy 6:1-9

Now these are the commandments, statutes, and ordinances that the Lord your God instructed me to teach you so that you may carry them out in the land where you are headed and that you may so revere the Lord your God that you will keep all his statutes and commandments that I am giving you—you, your children, and your grandchildren—all your lives, to prolong your days. Pay attention, Israel, and be careful to do this so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in number—as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, said to you, you will have a land flowing with milk and honey.

Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! You must love the Lord your God with your whole mind, your whole being, and all your strength.

These words I am commanding you today must be kept in mind, and you must teach them to your children and speak of them as you sit in your house, as you walk along the road, as you lie down, and as you get up. You should tie them as a reminder on your forearm and fasten them as symbols on your forehead. Inscribe them on the doorframes of your houses and gates.

Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Sunday - Song of Moses

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

I will sing to/the Lord,
for he is lofty and up-lift-ed;
the horse and its rid-er
has he hurled into the sea.

The Lord is my strength and my ref-uge;
the Lord has be-come my Sav-ior.
This is my God and I will praise him,
the God of my people and I will ex-alt him.

The Lord is a mighty war-ri-or;
Yah-weh is his holy Name.
The chari-ots of Phar-oah and his ar-my
has he hurled into the sea;

The finest of those who bear ar-mor
have been drowned in/the Red Sea.
The fathom-less deep has over-whelmed them;
they sank into the depths like a stone.

Your right hand, O Lord,
is glori-ous and might-y;
your right hand, O Lord,
has over-thrown the ene-my.

Who can be com-pared with you,
O Lord, a-mong the gods?
who is like you,
glori-ous in ho-li-ness,

Awe-some in re-nown,
and work-er of won-ders?
You stretched forth your right hand;
the earth swal-lowed them up.

With your con-stant love
you led the people you re-deemed;
with your might you brought them in safe-ty
to your holy dwell-ing place.

You will bring them in and plant them
on the mount of your pos-ses-sion,
In/the rest-ing place
you have made for your-self, O Lord,

In/the sanc-tu-ary, O Lord,
that your hand has es-tab-lished.
The Lord shall reign
for ever and for ever. A-men!

Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for ever A-men.

A reading from John 12:24-32

I tell you the solemn truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces much grain. The one who loves his life destroys it, and the one who hates his life in this world guards it for eternal life. If anyone wants to serve me, he must follow me, and where I am, my servant will be too. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

“Now my soul is greatly distressed. And what should I say? ‘Father, deliver me from this hour’? No, but for this very reason I have come to this hour. Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.” The crowd that stood there and heard the voice said that it had thundered. Others said that an angel had spoken to him. Jesus said, “This voice has not come for my benefit but for yours. Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be driven out. And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”

Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Sunday - Song of Praise

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Glory to you, Lord God of our fath-ers;
you are worthy of praise; glory to you.
Glory to you for/the radi-ance of your holy Name;
we will praise you and highly ex-alt you for ev-er.

Glory to you in/the splen-dor of your tem-ple;
on the throne of your maj-es-ty, glory to you.
Glory to you, seated be-tween the Cher-u-bim;
we will praise you and highly ex-alt you for ev-er.

Glory to you, be-hold-ing the depths;
in the high vault of heav-en, glory to you.
Glory to you, Fath-er, Son, and Ho-ly Spi-rit;
we will praise you and highly ex-alt you for ev-er.

Prayers

Sunday Creed

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

We be-lieve in God, the Fath-er al-might-y,
cre-a-tor of heaven and earth.
We be-lieve in Je-sus Christ,
his on-ly son, our Lord.

He was con-ceived by/the power of/the Ho-ly Spi-rit
and born of/the Vir-gin Mar-y.
He suffered under Pon-tius Pi-late,
was cruci-fied, died, and was bur-ied.

He de-scended to/the dead.
On the third day he rose a-gain.
He a-scended into heav-en,
and is seated at/the right hand of/the Fath-er.

He will come a-gain
to judge the living and the dead.
We be-lieve in/the Ho-ly Spi-rit,
the _ holy catho-lic Church,

the com-mun-ion of saints,
the for-give-ness of sins,
the resur-rec-tion of/the bod-y,
and the life ever-last-ing. A-men.

Sunday - Our Father

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

The Lord be with you.
And al-so with _ you.
Our Fath-er in heav-en,
hal-low-ed be your Name.

Your king-dom come,
your will be done on earth
as it is in heav-en.
Give us to-day our dai-ly bread.

For-give us our sins
as we _ for-give those
who sin a-gainst us.
Save us from/the time of tri-al,

De-liver us from e-vil.
For the king-dom, the pow-er,
and the glory are yours,
now and for-ever A-men.

Sunday - Morning Suffrages A

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     PDF     All

Show us your mer-cy, O Lord;
And grant us your sal-va-tion.
Clothe your minis-ters with righteous-ness;
Let your people sing with joy.

Give peace, O Lord, in all the world;
For only in you can we live in safe-ty.
Lord, keep this na-tion under your care;
And guide us in/the way of justice and truth.

Let your way be known up-on earth;
Your sav-ing health a-mong all na-tions.
Let not the need-y, O Lord, be for-got-ten;
Nor the hope of/the poor be taken a-way.

Cre-ate in us clean hearts, O God;
And sus-tain us with your Ho-ly Spi-rit.
Show us your mer-cy, O Lord;
And grant us your sal-va-tion.

Collect of the Day

O God, you have prepared for those who love you such good things as surpass our understanding: Pour into our hearts such love towards you, that we, loving you in all things and above all things, may obtain your promises, which exceed all that we can desire; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Amen.

A Collect for Sundays

Lord God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ triumphed over the powers of death and prepared for us our place in the new Jerusalem: Grant that we, who have this day given thanks for his resurrection, may praise you in that City of which he is the light, and where he lives and reigns for ever and ever.

Amen.

Prayer for Mission

O God and Father of all, whom the whole heavens adore: Let the whole earth also worship you, all nations obey you, all tongues confess and bless you, and men and women everywhere love you and serve you in peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Al-might-y God, Fa-ther of all mer-cies,
we your un-worthy serv-ants give you hum-ble thanks
for all your good-ness and loving kind-ness
to us and to all whom you have made.

We bless you for our cre-a-tion, pres-er-va-tion,
and all the blessings of this life;
but above all for your im-measur-able love
in\the re-demp-tion of\the world by our Lord Je-sus Christ;

for\the means of grace, and for\the hope of glory.
And, we pray, give\us such\an a-ware-ness of your mer-cy,
that with truly thank-ful hearts
we may show forth your praise,

not only with our lips, but in our lives,
by giving up our selves to your ser-vice,
and by walking be-fore you
in holi-ness and righteous-ness all our days;

through Je-sus Christ our Lord,
to whom, with you and the Ho-ly Spi-rit,
be hon-or and glo-ry
through-out all the ag-es. A-men.
