Be-hold, I bring you good news of great joy,
which will come to all the peo-ple;
for unto you is born this day
in the city of Da-vid,
a Sav-ior, who is Christ the Lord.
Be-hold, the dwelling of God is with man-kind.
He will dwell with them,
and they shall be his peo-ple,
and God him-self will be with them,
and He will be their God.
Lord, o-pen our lips.
And our mouth shall pro-claim your praise.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Sunday - Venite

Come, let's sing to/the Lord;
let's shout for joy to/the Rock of our sal-va-tion.
Let's come be-fore his presence with thanks-giv-ing
and raise a loud shout to him with psalms.
For the Lord is/a great God,
and a great King a-bove all gods.
In his hand are the caverns of/the earth,
and the heights of/the hills are his al-so.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands have molded the dry land.
Come, let's bow down, and bend the knee,
and kneel be-fore the Lord our Mak-er.
For he is our God,
and we are the people of his pas-ture
and the sheep of his hand.
Oh, that to-day you would hearken to his voice!
Psalms
Psalm 97
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
The Lord reigns! Let/the earth be hap-py!
Let the many coast-lands re-joice!
Dark clouds sur-round him;
equi-ty and jus-tice are the foun-da-tion of his throne.
Fire goes be-fore him;
on ev'ry side it burns up his ene-mies.
His lightning bolts light up/the world;
the earth sees and trem-bles.
The mountains melt like wax be-fore the Lord,
be-fore the Lord of/the whole earth.
The sky de-clares his jus-tice,
and all/the na-tions see his splen-dor.
All who wor-ship i-dols are a-shamed,
those who boast/a-bout worthless i-dols.
All the gods bow down be-fore him.
Zi-on hears and re-joic-es,
the towns of Ju-dah are hap-py,
be-cause of your judg-ment, O Lord.
For you, O Lord,
are the Most High over the whole earth;
You are ele-vat-ed high a-bove all gods.
You who love the Lord, hate e-vil!
He pro-tects the lives of his faithful follow-ers;
he de-livers them from/the power of/the wick-ed.
The god-ly bask in/the light;
the moral-ly up-right ex-peri-ence joy.
You god-ly ones, re-joice in/the Lord!
Give thanks to his holy name.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Psalm 98
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Sing to/the Lord a new song,
for he per-forms a-mazing deeds!
By his right hand and his mighty arm
he ac-com-plishes de-liver-ance.
The Lord demon-strates his power to de-liv-er;
in the sight of/the na-tions he re-veals his jus-tice.
He re-mains loyal and faithful to/the fami-ly of Is-ra-el.
All the ends of/the earth see our God de-liver us.
Shout out praises to/the Lord, all the earth!
Break out in a joyful shout and sing!
Sing to/the Lord ac-com-panied by a harp,
ac-com-panied by a harp and the sound of mu-sic!
With trumpets and the blaring of/the ram's horn,
shout out praises be-fore the king, the Lord!
Let the sea and every-thing in it shout,
a-long with/the world and those who live in it!
Let the rivers clap their hands!
Let the mountains sing in uni-son be-fore the Lord!
For he comes to judge the earth!
He judges the world fairly, and the na-tions in/a just man-ner.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Readings
A reading from Proverbs 8:22-30
The Lord created me as the beginning of his works,
before his deeds of long ago.
From eternity I have been fashioned,
from the beginning, from before the world existed.
When there were no deep oceans I was born,
when there were no springs overflowing with water;
before the mountains were set in place—
before the hills—I was born,
before he made the earth and its fields,
or the top soil of the world.
When he established the heavens, I was there;
when he marked out the horizon over the face of the deep,
when he established the clouds above,
when he secured the fountains of the deep,
when he gave the sea his decree
that the waters should not pass over his command,
when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
then I was beside him as a master craftsman,
and I was his delight day by day,
rejoicing before him at all times,
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
Sunday - First Song of Isaiah
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Sure-ly, it is God who saves me;
I will trust in him and not be a-fraid.
For the Lord is my stronghold and my sure de-fense,
and he will be my Sav-ior.
There-fore you shall draw water with re-joic-ing
from the springs of sal-va-tion.
And on that day you shall say,
Give thanks to/the Lord and call up-on his Name;
Make his deeds known a-mong the peo-ples;
see that they re-member that his Name is ex-alt-ed.
Sing the praises of/the Lord,
for he has done great things,
And this is known in all the world.
Cry a-loud, in-habit-ants of Zi-on, ring out your joy,
for the great one in/the midst of you
is the Ho-ly One of Is-ra-el.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
A reading from John 13:20-35
I tell you the solemn truth, whoever accepts the one I send accepts me, and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.”
When he had said these things, Jesus was greatly distressed in spirit, and testified, “I tell you the solemn truth, one of you will betray me.” The disciples began to look at one another, worried and perplexed to know which of them he was talking about. One of his disciples, the one Jesus loved, was at the table to the right of Jesus in a place of honor. So Simon Peter gestured to this disciple to ask Jesus who it was he was referring to. Then the disciple whom Jesus loved leaned back against Jesus’ chest and asked him, “Lord, who is it?” Jesus replied, “It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread after I have dipped it in the dish.” Then he dipped the piece of bread in the dish and gave it to Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son. And after Judas took the piece of bread, Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.” (Now none of those present at the table understood why Jesus said this to Judas. Some thought that because Judas had the money box, Jesus was telling him to buy whatever they needed for the feast, or to give something to the poor.) Judas took the piece of bread and went out immediately. (Now it was night.)
When Judas had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in him. If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him right away. Children, I am still with you for a little while. You will look for me, and just as I said to the Jewish religious leaders, ‘Where I am going you cannot come,’ now I tell you the same.
“I give you a new commandment—to love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. Everyone will know by this that you are my disciples—if you have love for one another.”
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
