May God bless us!
May God, our God, bless us!
Then all the ends of/the earth
will give him the honor he de-serves.
May God show us his favor and bless us!
May he smile up-on us!
Then those living on earth will know what you are like;
all na-tions will know how you de-liver your peo-ple.
Let foreign-ers re-joice and cel-e-brate!
For you exe-cute jus-tice a-mong the na-tions,
O God, make speed to save us.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Psalm 119_1-24

How blessed are those
whose ac-tions are blame-less,
who o-bey the law of/the Lord.
How blessed are those who ob-serve his rules,
and seek him with all their heart,
who, more-over, do no wrong,
but follow in his foot-steps.
You de-mand that your pre-cepts be careful-ly kept.
If on-ly I were pre-dis-posed
to keep all your stat-utes!
Then I would not be a-shamed,
if I were focused on all your com-mands.
I will give you sin-cere thanks,
when I learn your just regu-la-tion.
I will keep your stat-utes.
Do not com-plete-ly a-ban-don me!
How can a young per-son main-tain a pure life?
By guarding it ac-cord-ing to your in-struc-tions!
With all my heart I seek you.
Do not al-low me to stray from your com-mands!
In my heart I store up your words,
so I might not sin a-gainst you.
You de-serve praise, O Lord!
Teach me all your stat-utes!
With my lips I pro-claim
all the regu-la-tions you have re-vealed.
I re-joice in/the life-style pre-scribed by your rules
as if they were riches of all kinds.
I will medi-tate on your pre-cepts
and fo-cus on your be-hav-ior.
I find de-light in your stat-utes;
I do not for-get your in-struc-tions.
Be kind to your serv-ant!
Then I will live and keep your in-struc-tions.
O-pen my eyes so I can tru-ly see
the marvel-ous things in your law!
I am a resi-dent foreign-er in this land.
Do not hide your com-mands from me!
I desper-ate-ly long to know
your regu-la-tions at all times.
You rep-ri-mand arro-gant peo-ple.
Those who stray from your com-mands are doomed.
Spare me shame and hu-mili-a-tion,
for I ob-serve your rules.
Though rulers plot and slan-der me,
your serv-ant medi-tates on your stat-utes.
Yes, I find de-light in your rules;
Your law gives me guid-ance.
Glory to/the Fath-er, and to/the Son,
and to/the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in/the be-ginning, is now,
and will be for-ever A-men.
Readings
A reading from Luke 21:29-38
Then he told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree and all the other trees. When they sprout leaves, you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near. So also you, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
“But be on your guard so that your hearts are not weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of this life, and that day close down upon you suddenly like a trap. For it will overtake all who live on the face of the whole earth. But stay alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that must happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
So every day Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, but at night he went and stayed on the Mount of Olives. And all the people came to him early in the morning to listen to him in the temple courts.
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

The Lord be with you.
And al-so with _ you.
Our Fath-er in heav-en,
hal-low-ed be your Name.
Your king-dom come,
your will be done on earth
as it is in heav-en.
Give us to-day our dai-ly bread.
For-give us our sins
as we _ for-give those
who sin a-gainst us.
Save us from/the time of tri-al,
De-liver us from e-vil.
For the king-dom, the pow-er,
and the glory are yours,
now and for-ever A-men.
Collect of the Day
Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles, "Peace I give to you; my peace I leave with you:" Regard not our sins, but the faith of your Church, and give to us the peace and unity of that heavenly city, where with the Father and the Holy Spirit you live and reign, now and for ever.
Amen.
A Collect for Aid against Perils
O God, the author of peace and lover of concord, to know you is eternal life and to serve you is perfect freedom: Defend us, your humble servants, in all assaults of our enemies; that we, surely trusting in your defense, may not fear the power of any adversaries; through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Prayer for Mission
Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name.
Amen.
