Grace to you and peace from God our Fa-ther
and from the Lord Je-sus Christ.
Wor-ship the Lord in the beau-ty of his ho-li-ness;
let the whole earth trem-ble be-fore him.
Let my prayer be set forth in your sight as in-cense,
the lift-ing up of my hands as the eve-ning sac-ri-fice.
I will bless the Lord who gives me coun-sel;
my heart teach-es me, night af-ter night.
I have set the Lord al-ways be-fore me;
be-cause he is at my right hand, I shall not fall.
O God, make speed to save us.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.
Saturday - O Gracious Light
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
O gra-cious light, pure bright-ness
of the ev-er-liv-ing Fath-er in heav-en,
O Je-sus Christ, ho-ly and bless-ed!
we sing your prais-es, O God!
Now as we come to the set-ting of the sun,
and our eyes be-hold the ves-per light,
we sing your prais-es, O God:
Fath-er, Son, and Ho-ly Spi-rit.
You are wor-thy at all times
to be praised by hap-py voic-es,
O Son of God, O Giv-er of life,
and to be glo-ri-fied through all the world.
Psalms
Psalm 138
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
I will give you thanks with all my heart;
be-fore the heav-en-ly as-sem-bly I will sing prais-es to you.
I will bow down toward your ho-ly tem-ple,
and give thanks to your name,
be-cause of your loy-al love and faith-ful-ness,
for you have ex-alt-ed your prom-ise a-bove the en-tire sky.
When I cried out for help, you an-swered me.
You made me bold and en-er-gized me.
Let all the kings of the earth give thanks to you, O Lord,
when they hear the words you speak.
Let them sing a-bout the Lord's deeds,
for the Lord's splen-dor is mag-nif-i-cent.
Though the Lord is ex-alt-ed, he looks af-ter the low-ly,
and hum-bles the proud from far a-way.
E-ven when I must walk in the midst of dan-ger, you re-vive me.
You op-pose my an-gry en-e-mies,
and your right hand de-liv-ers me.
The Lord a-veng-es me.
O Lord, your loy-al love en-dures.
Do not a-ban-don those whom you have made!
Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.
Psalm 139
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
O Lord, you ex-am-ine me and know.
You know when I sit down and when I get up;
e-ven from far a-way you un-der-stand my mo-tives.
You care-ful-ly ob-serve me when I trav-el
or when I lie down to rest;
you are a-ware of eve-ry-thing I do.
My tongue does not frame a word with-out you, O Lord,
be-ing thor-ough-ly a-ware of it.
You squeeze me in from be-hind and in front;
you place your hand on me.
Your knowl-edge is be-yond my com-pre-hen-sion;
it is so far be-yond me, I am un-a-ble to fath-om it.
Where can I go to es-cape your Spi-rit?
Where can I flee to es-cape your pres-ence?
If I were to as-cend to heav-en, you would be there.
If I were to sprawl out in She-ol, there you would be.
If I were to fly a-way on the wings of the dawn,
and set-tle down on the oth-er side of the sea,
e-ven there your hand would guide me,
your right hand would grab hold of me.
If I were to say, Cer-tain-ly the dark-ness will cov-er me,
and the light will turn to night all a-round me,
e-ven the dark-ness is not too dark for you to see,
and the night is as bright as day;
Dark-ness and light are the same to you.
Cer-tain-ly you made my mind and heart;
you wove me to-geth-er in my moth-er's womb.
I will give you thanks and praise.
Your deeds are awe-some and a-maz-ing.
You knew me thor-ough-ly;
my bones were not hid-den from you,
when I was made in se-cret.
When I was sewed to-geth-er
in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw me when I was in-side the womb.
All the days or-dained for me were re-cord-ed in your scroll
be-fore one of them came into ex-ist-ence.
How dif-fi-cult it is for me
to fath-om your thoughts a-bout me, O God!
How vast is their sum to-tal!
If I tried to count them,
they would out-num-ber the grains of sand.
E-ven if I fin-ished count-ing them,
I would still have to con-tend with you.
If on-ly you would kill the wick-ed, O God!
Get a-way from me, you vio-lent men!
They re-bel a-gainst you
and act de-ceit-ful-ly; your en-e-mies lie.
O Lord, do I not hate those who hate you,
and de-spise those who op-pose you?
I ab-so-lute-ly hate them,
they have be-come my en-e-mies!
Ex-am-ine me, O God, and probe my thought!
Test me, and know my con-cern!
See if there is any i-dol-a-trous way in me,
and lead me in the ev-er-last-ing way!
Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.
Readings
A reading from Revelation 13:11-18
Then I saw another beast coming up from the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but was speaking like a dragon. He exercised all the ruling authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and those who inhabit it worship the first beast, the one whose lethal wound had been healed. He performed momentous signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in front of people and, by the signs he was permitted to perform on behalf of the beast, he deceived those who live on the earth. He told those who live on the earth to make an image to the beast who had been wounded by the sword, but still lived. The second beast was empowered to give life to the image of the first beast so that it could speak, and could cause all those who did not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He also caused everyone (small and great, rich and poor, free and slave) to obtain a mark on their right hand or on their forehead. Thus no one was allowed to buy or sell things unless he bore the mark of the beast—that is, his name or his number. This calls for wisdom: Let the one who has insight calculate the beast’s number, for it is man’s number, and his number is 666.
Here ends the reading.

Saturday - First Song of Isaiah
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Sure-ly, it is God who saves me;
I will trust in him and not be a-fraid.
For the Lord is my strong-hold and my sure de-fense,
and he will be my Sav-ior.
There-fore you shall draw wa-ter with re-joic-ing
from the springs of sal-va-tion.
And on that day you shall say,
Give thanks to the Lord and call up-on his Name;
Make his deeds known a-mong the peo-ples;
see that they re-mem-ber that his Name is ex-alt-ed.
Sing the prais-es of the Lord,
for he has done great things,
And this is known in all the world.
Cry a-loud, in-hab-it-ants of Zi-on, ring out your joy,
for the great one in the midst of you
is the Ho-ly One of Is-ra-el.
Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.
A reading from Luke 12:32-48
“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is well pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide yourselves purses that do not wear out—a treasure in heaven that never decreases, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
“Get dressed for service and keep your lamps burning; be like people waiting for their master to come back from the wedding celebration, so that when he comes and knocks, they can immediately open the door for him. Blessed are those slaves whom their master finds alert when he returns! I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, have them take their place at the table, and will come and wait on them! Even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night and finds them alert, blessed are those slaves! But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. You also must be ready because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”
Then Peter said, “Lord, are you telling this parable for us or for everyone?” The Lord replied, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his household servants, to give them their allowance of food at the proper time? Blessed is that slave whom his master finds at work when he returns. I tell you the truth, the master will put him in charge of all his possessions. But if that slave should say to himself, ‘My master is delayed in returning,’ and he begins to beat the other slaves, both men and women, and to eat, drink, and get drunk, then the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not foresee, and will cut him in two, and assign him a place with the unfaithful. That servant who knew his master’s will but did not get ready or do what his master asked will receive a severe beating. But the one who did not know his master’s will and did things worthy of punishment will receive a light beating. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required, and from the one who has been entrusted with much, even more will be asked.
Here ends the reading.

Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Glo-ry to God in the high-est,
and peace to his peo-ple on earth.
Lord God, heav-en-ly King,
al-might-y God and Fath-er,
We wor-ship you, we give you thanks,
We praise you for your glo-ry.
Lord Je-sus Christ, on-ly Son of the Fath-er,
Lord God, O Lamb of God,
You take a-way the sin of the world:
now have mer-cy on us;
you are seat-ed at the right hand of the Fath-er:
now re-ceive our pray-er.
For you a-lone are the Ho-ly One,
You a-lone are the Lord,
You a-lone are the Most High, Je-sus Christ,
with the Ho-ly Spi-rit, in the glo-ry of God the Fath-er.
Prayers
Saturday Creed
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
We be-lieve in God, the Fath-er al-might-y,
cre-a-tor of heav-en and earth.
We be-lieve in Je-sus Christ,
his on-ly son, our Lord.
He was con-ceived by the pow-er of the Ho-ly Spi-rit
and born of the Vir-gin Ma-ry.
He suf-fered un-der Pon-tius Pi-late,
was cru-ci-fied, died, and was bur-ied.
He de-scend-ed to the dead.
On the third day he rose a-gain.
He a-scend-ed into heav-en,
and is seat-ed at the right hand of the Fath-er.
He will come a-gain
to judge the liv-ing and the dead.
We be-lieve in the Ho-ly Spi-rit,
the ho-ly cath-o-lic Church,
the com-mun-ion of saints,
the for-give-ness of sins,
the res-ur-rec-tion of the bod-y,
and the life ev-er-last-ing. A-men.
Saturday - Our Father
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
The Lord be with you.
And al-so with you. A-men.
Our Fath-er in heav-en,
hal-low-ed be your Name.
Your king-dom come,
your will be done, on earth as in heav-en.
Give us to-day our dai-ly bread.
For-give us our sins as we for-give those who sin a-gainst us.
Save us from the time of tri-al,
and de-liv-er us from e-vil.
For the king-dom, the pow-er, and the glo-ry are yours,
now and for ev-er. A-men.

Collect of the Day
Father in heaven, by your grace the virgin mother of your incarnate Son was blessed in bearing him, but still more blessed in keeping your word: Grant us who honor the exaltation of her lowliness to follow the example of her devotion to your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
A Collect for Saturdays
O God, the source of eternal light: Shed forth your unending day upon us who watch for you, that our lips may praise you, our lives may bless you, and our worship on the morrow give you glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Prayer for Mission
O God and Father of all, whom the whole heavens adore: Let the whole earth also worship you, all nations obey you, all tongues confess and bless you, and men and women everywhere love you and serve you in peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
A Prayer of Saint Chrysostom
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto PDF All
Al-might-y God,
you have giv-en us grace at this time
with one ac-cord
to make our com-mon sup-pli-ca-tion to you;
and you have prom-ised
through your well-be-lov-ed Son
that when two or three are ga-thered to-geth-er in his Name
you will be in the midst of them:
Ful-fill now, O Lord, our de-sires and pe-ti-tions
as may be best for us;
grant-ing us in this world knowl-edge of your truth,
and in the age to come life ev-er-last-ing. A-men.
