Opening Hymn: LEVAS2 (L176) An Evening Prayer
1 If I have wounded any soul today,
If I have caused one foot to go astray,
If I have walked in my own willful way,
Dear Lord, forgive!
2 If I have uttered idle words or vain,
If I have turned aside from want or pain,
Lest I offend some other through the strain,
Dear Lord, forgive!
3 If I have been perverse, or hard, or cold,
If I have longed for shelter in the fold,
When thou hast given me some fort to hold,
Dear Lord, forgive!
4 Forgive the sins I have confessed to thee;
Forgive the secret sins I do not see;
O guide me, love me, and my keeper be.
Dear Lord, Amen.
1 If I have wounded any soul today,

If I have walked in my own willful way,
Dear Lord, forgive!

If I have turned aside from want or pain,
Lest I offend some other through the strain,
Dear Lord, forgive!

R: O Lord, | make haste | to help | us.
R: O Lord, | make haste | to help | us.
Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.
O Gracious Light Phos hilaron with words
pure brightness of the everliving Father in heaven,
O Jesus Christ, holy and blessed!
Now as we come to the setting of the sun,
and our eyes behold the vesper light,
we sing your praises, O God:
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
You are worthy at all times to be praised by happy voices,
O Son of God, O Giver of life,
and to be glorified through all the worlds.
You are worthy at all times to be praised by happy voices,
O Son of God, O Giver of life,
and to be glorified through all the worlds.
Psalm 77
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto All
I will cry out to God and call for help!
I will cry out to God and he will pay at-ten-tion to me.
In my time of trou-ble I sought the Lord.
I kept my hand raised in prayer through-out the night.
I re-fused to be com-fort-ed.
I said, I will re-mem-ber God while I groan;
I will think a-bout him
un-til all my strength leaves me.
You held my eye-lids o-pen;
I was trou-bled and could not speak.
I thought a-bout the days of old, a-bout an-cient times.
I said, Dur-ing the night I will re-mem-ber the song I once sang;
I will think ver-y care-ful-ly.
I tried to make sense of what was hap-pen-ing.
I asked, Will the Lord re-ject me for-ev-er?
Will he nev-er a-gain show me his fa-vor?
Has his loy-al love dis-ap-peared for-ev-er?
Has his prom-ise failed for-ev-er?
Has God for-got-ten to be mer-ci-ful?
Has his an-ger stif-led his com-pas-sion?
Then I said, I am sick-ened by the thought
that the Most High might be-come in-ac-tive.
I will re-mem-ber the works of the Lord.
Yes, I will re-mem-ber the a-maz-ing things you did long a-go!
I will think a-bout all you have done;
I will re-flect up-on your deeds!
O God, your deeds are ex-traor-di-nar-y!
What god can com-pare to our great God?
You are the God who does a-maz-ing things;
you have re-vealed your strength a-mong the na-tions.
You de-liv-ered your peo-ple by your strength
the chil-dren of Ja-cob and Jo-seph.
The wat-ers saw you, O God,
the wat-ers saw you and trem-bled.
Yes, the depths of the sea shook with fear.
The clouds poured down rain; the skys thun-dered.
Yes, your ar-rows flashed a-bout.
Your thun-der-ous voice was heard in the wind;
the light-ning bolts lit up the world;
the earth trem-bled and shook.
You walked through the sea;
you passed through the surg-ing wat-ers, but left no foot-print.
You led your peo-ple like a flock of sheep,
by the hand of Mo-ses and Aa-ron.
Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.
Psalm 79
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto All
O God, for-eign-ers have in-vad-ed your cho-sen land;
they have pol-lut-ed your ho-ly tem-ple
and turned Je-ru-sa-lem into a heap of ruin.
They have giv-en the corp-ses of your serv-ants to the birds of the sky;
the flesh of your loy-al fol-low-ers to the beasts of the earth.
They have made their blood flow like wa-ter all a-round Je-ru-sa-lem,
and there is no one to bur-y them.
We have be-come an ob-ject of dis-dain to our neigh-bors;
those who live on our bor-ders taunt and in-sult us.
How long will this go on, O Lord?
Will you stay an-gry for-ev-er?
How long will your rage burn like fire?
Pour out your an-ger on the na-tions that do not ac-knowl-edge you,
on the king-doms that do not pray to you!
For they have de-voured Ja-cob and de-stroyed his home.
Do not hold us ac-count-a-ble for the sins of ear-li-er gen-er-a-tions!
Quick-ly send your com-pas-sion our way,
for we are in se-ri-ous trou-ble!
Help us, O God, our de-liv-er-er!
For the sake of your glo-ri-ous rep-u-ta-tion, res-cue us!
For-give our sins for the sake of your rep-u-ta-tion!
Why should the na-tions say, Where is their God?
Be-fore our ver-y eyes may the shed blood of your serv-ants
be a-venged a-mong the na-tions!
Lis-ten to the pain-ful cry of the pris-on-er!
Use your great strength to set free those con-demned to die!
Pay back our neigh-bors in full!
May they be in-sult-ed the same way they in-sult-ed you, O Lord!
Then we, your peo-ple,
the sheep of your pas-ture,
will con-tin-ual-ly thank you.
We will tell com-ing gen-er-a-tions of your praise-wor-thy acts.
Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.
A reading from Matthew 17:14-21
When they came to the crowd, a man came to him, knelt before him, and said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, because he has seizures and suffers terribly, for he often falls into the fire and into the water. I brought him to your disciples, but they were not able to heal him. ” Jesus answered, “You unbelieving and perverse generation! How much longer must I be with you? How much longer must I endure you? Bring him here to me. ”
Then Jesus rebuked the demon and it came out of him, and the boy was healed from that moment. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?” He told them, “It was because of your little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; nothing will be impossible for you. ”
Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!
Monday - Song of Mary
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto AllMy soul pro-claims the great-ness of the Lord,
my spi-rit re-joic-es in God my Sav-ior;
for he has looked with fa-vor on his low-ly serv-ant.
From this day all gen-er-a-tions will call me blessed:
the Al-might-y has done great things for me,
and ho-ly is his Name.
He has mer-cy on those who fear him
in eve-ry gen-er-a-tion.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scat-tered the proud in their con-ceit.
He has cast down the might-y from their thrones,
and has lift-ed up the low-ly.
He has filled the hun-gry with good things,
and the rich he has sent a-way emp-ty.
He has come to the help of his serv-ant Is-ra-el,
for he has re-mem-bered his prom-ise of mer-cy,
The prom-ise he made to our fath-ers,
to A-bra-ham and his chil-dren for-ev-er.
My soul pro-claims the great-ness of the Lord,
my spi-rit re-joic-es in God my Sav-ior;
Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.
Monday Creed
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto AllWe be-lieve in God, the Fath-er al-might-y,
cre-a-tor of heav-en and earth.
We be-lieve in Je-sus Christ,
his on-ly son, our Lord.
He was con-ceived by the pow-er of the Ho-ly Spi-rit
and born of the Vir-gin Ma-ry.
He suf-fered un-der Pon-tius Pi-late,
was cru-ci-fied, died, and was bur-ied.
He de-scend-ed to the dead.
On the third day he rose a-gain.
He a-scend-ed into heav-en,
and is seat-ed at the right hand of the Fath-er.
He will come a-gain
to judge the liv-ing and the dead.
We be-lieve in the Ho-ly Spi-rit,
the ho-ly cath-o-lic Church,
the com-mun-ion of saints,
the for-give-ness of sins,
the res-ur-rec-tion of the bod-y,
and the life ev-er-last-ing. A-men.
Monday - Our Father
Tenor Soprano Response Cantor Bass Alto AllThe Lord be with you.
And al-so with you. A-men.
Our Fath-er in heav-en,
hal-low-ed be your Name.
Your king-dom come,
your will be done, on earth as in heav-en.
Give us to-day our dai-ly bread.
For-give us our sins as we for-give those who sin a-gainst us.
Save us from the time of tri-al,
and de-liv-er us from e-vil.
For the king-dom, the pow-er, and the glo-ry are yours,
now and for ev-er. A-men.

Almighty God, Lord of heaven and earth: We humbly pray that your gracious providence may give and preserve to our use the harvests of the land and of the seas, and may prosper all who labor to gather them, that we, who are constantly receiving good things from your hand, may always give you thanks; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
A Collect for Peace
Most holy God, the source of all good desires, all right judgements, and all just works: Give to us, your servants, that peace which the world cannot give, so that our minds may be fixed on the doing of your will, and that we, being delivered from the fear of all enemies, may live in peace and quietness; through the mercies of Christ Jesus our Savior. Amen.
Prayer for Mission
O God and Father of all, whom the whole heavens adore: Let the whole earth also worship you, all nations obey you, all tongues confess and bless you, and men and women everywhere love you and serve you in peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Al-might-y God,
you have giv-en us grace at this time
with one ac-cord

and you have prom-ised
through your well-be-lov-ed Son
that when two or three are ga-thered to-geth-er in his Name
you will be in the midst of them:
Ful-fill now, O Lord, our de-sires and pe-ti-tions
as may be best for us;
grant-ing us in this world knowl-edge of your truth,
and in the age to come life ev-er-last-ing. A-men.
The grace of our Lord Je-sus Christ,
and the love of God our Fath-er,
and the fel-low-ship of the Ho-ly Spi-rit,
be with us all ev-er-more. A-men.
Thanks be to God!
