Morning Song - Seventh Tuesday of Easter

Easter Tuesday Invitation

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     All

Al-le-lu-ia! Christ is ris-en.
The Lord is ris-en in-deed. Al-le-lu-ia!
O give thanks to the Lord, and call up-on his Name;
make known his deeds a-mong the peo-ples.

Thus says the high and loft-One
who in-hab-its e-ter-ni-ty,
whose name is Ho-ly,
I dwell in the high and ho-ly place

and al-so with the one who has a con-trite and hum-ble spi-rit,
to re-vive the spi-rit of the hum-ble and to re-vive the heart of the con-trite.
Lord, o-pen our lips.
And our mouth shall pro-claim your praise.

Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.

Tuesday - Christ our Passover

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     All

Al-le-lu-ia. Christ our Pass-o-ver has been sac-ri-ficed for us;
there-fore let us keep the feast,
Not with old leav-en, the leav-en of mal-ice and e-vil,
but with the un-leav-ened bread of sin-cer-i-ty and truth. Al-le-lu-ia.

Christ be-ing raised from the dead will nev-er die a-gain;
death no long-er has do-min-ion o-ver him.
The death that he died, he died to sin, once for all;
but the life he lives, he lives to God.

So al-so con-sid-er your-selves dead to sin,
and a-live to God in Je-sus Christ our Lord. Al-le-lu-ia.
Christ has been raised from the dead,
the first fruits of those who have fall-en a-sleep.

For since by a man came death,
by a man has come al-so the res-ur-rec-tion of the dead.
For as in A-dam all die,
so in Christ shall all be made a-live. Al-le-lu-ia.

Psalm 97

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     All

The Lord reigns! Let the earth be hap-py!
Let the man-coast-lands re-joice!
Dark clouds sur-round him;
eq-ui-ty and jus-tice are the foun-da-tion of his throne.

Fire goes be-fore him;
on eve-ry side it burns up his en-e-mies.
His light-ning bolts light up the world;
the earth sees and trem-bles.

The moun-tains melt like wax be-fore the Lord,
be-fore the Lord of the whole earth.
The sky de-clares his jus-tice,
and all the na-tions see his splen-dor.

All who wor-ship i-dols are a-shamed,
those who boast a-bout worth-less i-dols.
All the gods bow down be-fore him.
Zi-on hears and re-joic-es,

the towns of Ju-dah are hap-py,
be-cause of your judg-ment, Lord.
For you, Lord,
are the Most High o-ver the whole earth;

You are el-e-vat-ed high a-bove all gods.
You who love the Lord, hate e-vil!
He pro-tects the lives of his faith-ful fo-low-ers;
he de-liv-ers them from the pow-er of the wick-ed.

The god-ly bask in the light;
the mor-al-ly up-right ex-pe-ri-ence joy.
You god-ly one, re-joice in the Lord!
Give thanks to his ho-ly name.

Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.

Psalm 99

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     All

The Lord reigns! The na-tions trem-ble.
He sits en-throned a-bove the cher-u-bim; the earth shakes.
The Lord is el-e-vat-ed in Zi-on;
he is ex-alt-ed o-ver all the na-tions.

Let them praise your great and awe-some name!
He is ho-ly! The king is strong; he loves jus-tice.
You en-sure that le-gal de-ci-sions will be made fair-ly;
you pro-mote jus-tice and eq-ui-ty in Ja-cob.

Praise the Lord our God!
Wor-ship be-fore his foot-stool! He is ho-ly!
Mo-ses and Aa-ron were a-mong his priests;
Sa-mu-el was one of those who prayed to him.

They prayed to the Lord and he an-swered them.
He spoke to them from pil-lar of cloud;
they o-beyed his reg-u-la-tions and the or-di-nanc-es he gave them.
O Lord our God, you an-swered them.

They found you to be a for-giv-ing God,
but al-so one who pun-ished their sin-ful deeds.
Praise the Lord our God!
Wor-ship on his ho-ly hill, for the Lord our God is ho-ly!

Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.

Psalm 100

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     All

Shout out prais-es to the Lord, all the earth!
Wor-ship the Lord with joy!
En-ter his pres-ence with joy-ful sing-ing!
Ac-knowl-edge that the Lord is God!

He made us and we be-long to him;
we are his peo-ple, the sheep of his pas-ture.
En-ter his gates with praise,
and his courts with thanks-giv-ing!

Give him thanks! Praise his name!
For the Lord is good. His loy-al love en-dures,
and he is faith-ful
through eve-ry gen-er-a-tion.

Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.

A reading from 1 Samuel 16:1-13

The Lord said to Samuel, “How long do you intend to mourn for Saul? I have rejected him as king over Israel. Fill your horn with olive oil and go! I am sending you to Jesse in Bethlehem, for I have selected a king for myself from among his sons. ”

Samuel replied, “How can I go? Saul will hear about it and kill me!” But the Lord said, “Take a heifer with you and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. ’Then invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you should do. You will anoint for me the one I point out to you. ”

Samuel did what the Lord told him. When he arrived in Bethlehem, the elders of the city were afraid to meet him. They said, “Do you come in peace?” He replied, “Yes, in peace. I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Consecrate yourselves and come with me to the sacrifice. ” So he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.

When they arrived, Samuel noticed Eliab and said to himself, “Surely, here before the Lord stands his chosen king!” But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t be impressed by his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. God does not view things the way men do. People look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. ”

Then Jesse called Abinadab and presented him to Samuel. But Samuel said, “The Lord has not chosen this one, either. ” Then Jesse presented Shammah. But Samuel said, “The Lord has not chosen this one either. ” Jesse presented seven of his sons to Samuel. But Samuel said to Jesse, “The Lord has not chosen any of these. ” Then Samuel said to Jesse, “Is that all of the young men?” Jesse replied, “There is still the youngest one, but he’s taking care of the flock. ” Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and get him, for we cannot turn our attention to other things until he comes here. ”

So Jesse had him brought in. Now he was ruddy, with attractive eyes and a handsome appearance. The Lord said, “Go and anoint him. This is the one!” So Samuel took the horn full of olive oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers. The Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day onward. Then Samuel got up and went to Ramah.

Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Tuesday - Song of Three Young Men

Glo-ri-fy the Lord, all you works of the Lord,
praise him and high-ly ex-alt him for ev-er.
In the fir-ma-ment of his pow-er, glo-ri-fy the Lord,
praise him and high-ly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Glo-ri-fy the Lord, you an-gels and all pow-ers of the Lord,
O heav-ens and all wa-ters a-bove the heav-ens.
Sun and moon and stars of the sky, glo-ri-fy the Lord,
praise him and high-ly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Glo-ri-fy the Lord, eve-ry show-er of rain and fall of dew,
all winds and fire and heat.
Win-ter and Sum-mer, glo-ri-fy the Lord,
praise him and high-ly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Glo-ri-fy the Lord, O chill and cold,
drops of dew and flakes of snow.
Frost and cold, ice and sleet, glo-ri-fy the Lord,
praise him and high-ly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Glo-ri-fy the Lord, O nights and days,
O shin-ing light and en-fold-ing dark.
Storm clouds and thun-der bolts, glo-ri-fy the Lord,
praise him and high-ly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Let the earth glo-ri-fy the Lord,
praise him and high-ly ex-alt him for ev-er.
Glo-ri-fy the Lord, moun-tains and hills, and all that grows
praise him and high-ly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Glo-ri-fy the Lord, O springs of wa-ter, sea, and stream,
O whales and all that move in the wa-ters.
All birds of the air, glo-ri-fy the Lord,
praise him and high-ly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Glo-ri-fy the Lord, O beasts of the wild,
and all you flocks and herds.
O men and women eve-ry-where, glo-ri-fy the Lord,
praise him and high-ly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Let the peo-ple of God glo-ri-fy the Lord,
praise him and high-ly ex-alt him for ev-er.
Glo-ri-fy the Lord, O priests and serv-ants of the Lord,
praise him and high-ly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Glo-ri-fy the Lord, O spi-rits and souls of the right-eous,
praise him and high-ly ex-alt him for ev-er.
You that are ho-ly and hum-ble of heart, glo-ri-fy the Lord,
praise him and high-ly ex-alt him for ev-er.

Let us glo-ri-fy the Lord: Fath-er, Son, and Ho-ly Spi-rit;
praise him and high-ly ex-alt him for ev-er.
In the fir-ma-ment of his pow-er, glo-ri-fy the Lord,
praise him and high-ly ex-alt him for ev-er.

A reading from Ephesians 3:14-21

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. I pray that according to the wealth of his glory he will grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner person, that Christ will dwell in your hearts through faith, so that, because you have been rooted and grounded in love,you will be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and thus to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you will be filled up to all the fullness of God.

Now to him who by the power that is working within us is able to do far beyond all that we ask or think, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Here ends the reading.
Thanks be to God!

Tuesday - Song to the Lamb

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     All

Splen-dor and ho-nor and king-ly pow-er
are yours by right, Lord our God,
For you cre-at-ed eve-ry-thing that is,
and by your will they were cre-at-ed and have their be-ing;

And yours by right, O Lamb that was slain,
for with your blood you have re-deemed for God,
From eve-ry fam-i-ly, lan-guage, peo-ple, and na-tion,
a king-dom of priests to serve our God.

And so, to him who sits up-on the throne,
and to Je-sus Christ the Lamb,
Be wor-ship and praise, do-min-ion and splen-dor,
for ev-er and for ev-er-more.

Glo-ry to the Fath-er, and to the Son,
and to the Ho-ly Spi-rit:
as it was in the be-gin-ning, is now,
and will be for ev-er. A-men.

Tuesday Creed

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     All

We be-lieve in God, the Fath-er al-might-y,
cre-a-tor of heav-en and earth.
We be-lieve in Je-sus Christ,
his on-ly son, our Lord.

He was con-ceived by the pow-er of the Ho-ly Spi-rit
and born of the Vir-gin Ma-ry.
He suf-fered un-der Pon-tius Pi-late,
was cru-ci-fied, died, and was bur-ied.

He de-scend-ed to the dead.
On the third day he rose a-gain.
He a-scend-ed into heav-en,
and is seat-ed at the right hand of the Fath-er.

He will come a-gain
to judge the liv-ing and the dead.
We be-lieve in the Ho-ly Spi-rit,
the ho-ly cath-o-lic Church,

the com-mun-ion of saints,
the for-give-ness of sins,
the res-ur-rec-tion of the bod-y,
and the life ev-er-last-ing. A-men.

Tuesday - Our Father

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     All

The Lord be with you.
And al-so with you. A-men.
Our Fath-er in heav-en,
hal-low-ed be your Name.

Your king-dom come,
your will be done, on earth as in heav-en.
Give us to-day our dai-ly bread.
For-give us our sins as we for-give those who sin a-gainst us.

Save us from the time of tri-al,
and de-liv-er us from e-vil.
For the king-dom, the pow-er, and the glo-ry are yours,
now and for ev-er. A-men.

Tuesday - Suffrages A

Tenor     Soprano     Response     Cantor     Bass     Alto     All

Show us your mer-cy, Lord;
And grant us your sal-va-tion.
Clothe your min-is-ters with right-eous-ness;
Let your peo-ple sing with joy.

Give peace, O Lord, in all the world;
For on-ly in you can we live in safe-ty.
Lord, keep this na-tion un-der your care;
And guide us in the way of jus-tice and truth.

Let your way be known up-on earth;
Your sav-ing health a-mong all na-tions.
Let not the need-y, O Lord, be for-got-ten;
Nor the hope of the poor be tak-en a-way.

Cre-ate in us clean hearts, God;
And sus-tain us with your Ho-ly Spi-rit.
Show us your mer-cy, Lord;
And grant us your sal-va-tion.

Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ in his earthly life shared our toil and hallowed our labor: Be present with your people where they work; make those who carry on the industries and commerce of this land responsive to your will; and give to us all a pride in what we do, and a just return for our labor; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

A Collect for Peace
O God, the author of peace and lover of concord, to know you is eternal life and to serve you is perfect freedom: Defend us, your humble servants, in all assaults of our enemies; that we, surely trusting in your defense, may not fear the power of any adversaries; through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A Prayer for Mission
Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen.

Tuesday - Closing Eph 3:20

Glo-ry to God whose pow-er, work-ing in us,
can do in-fi-nite-ly more than we can ask or im-ag-ine

Glo-ry to him from gen-er-a-tion to gen-er-a-tion in the Church,
and in Christ Je-sus for ev-er and ev-er. A-men.
Let us bless the Lord. Al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia
Thanks be to God. Al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia
